Corrie hints at Stephen Reid's next victim with clue after Tim Metcalfe attack

Coronation Street was full of explosive scenes on Monday night as serial killer Stephen Reid left Tim Metcalfe for dead.

During the latest episode, Tim was distracted from Sally's plans for their wedding anniversary when a passing mention from Brian of Stephen's interest in the canal dredging project left him suspicious. Tim then decided to head to the canal towpath, where he used discarded objects nearby to poke at the water before a corpse's hand floated to the surface.

A horrified Tim then ran to his taxi, dialling 999 to report the dead body but his phone was playing up and before he could ring back he was interrupted by a menacing Stephen sitting in the back. After pretending that things were fine, Stephen then noticed Tim was heading to the police station and he took off his tie, strangling Tim in the driver's seat.

However, Tim then reclined his chair, which left Stephen crushed and he was able to make a run for it. However, Tim then decided to stop and tie his shoelace with Stephen then whacking him over the head from behind with a metal rod, leaving Tim unconscious on the floor.

It then appeared that Tim had survived but Stephen had other plans as he tied up his hands and then strangled him, leaving him lifeless. Stephen then discarded the metal rod, throwing it high into the air. Later on the episode, Stephen put Tim's body in the boot of his taxi, driving it into the woods before dousing it with petrol.

Stephen then returned to the cobbles in a taxi with Tim's fate unknown as he then headed home, telling love interest Jenny Connor that instead of flying out to Thailand later in the month, they should jet out tomorrow, which left the latter floored.

Jenny, who had been visited by Carla Connor earlier in the episode with the latter telling her about her suspicions over Stephen after realising he had spiked her with LSD, then suddenly appeared to get wary over her partner Stephen and his urgency to leave the cobbles.

After firmly yet politely shutting down his plans to leave for Thailand the next day, insisting they wait a month and don't rush it, Stephen offered to make Jenny a cup of tea, where he broke down in tears in the kitchen.

He then watched her drink the hot beverage and suggested she run a bath. With Jenny out the room, the murderer then menacingly rung the airline, claiming the two tickets he had later for that month would instead be for tomorrow and he'd only need one as "Jenny Connor won't be able to join me". What has Stephen got planned for Jenny and will she be okay?

Taking to social media, one fan feared: "Is he gonna try and drown Jenny #corrie", a different account put: "Get out of there please Jenny #Corrie", while another viewer wrote: "He's gonna try kill Jenny #Corrie!"
