Married At First Sight's first transgender contestant Ella Morgan left jaws dropping with her stunning red carpet look at the glitzy Pride of Britain awards. The reality star is renowned for making a statement with her fashion looks, and last night's gown was no different as she proudly donned the trans pride flag.

Ella'a pastel-hued gown featured a corset-style top that flowed beautifully into a voluminous frock, complete with layers of tulle underneath. She offset the whole look with a string of Vivian Westwood pearls and sky-high heels by Jimmy Choo.

The 29-year-old's on-screen romance has left Married At First Sight fans on tenterhooks this season as her tumultuous relationship with husband Nathaniel has been far from plain sailing. Ella has been praised for her vulnerability on the show as she's revealed that in previous relationships, she was made to feel like a secret once her partner realised her true identity.

Despite enduring a rocky road when it comes to love, the star is prouder than ever with who she is and told the Mirror that attending the Pride of Britain awards is one of the "best things" she's ever done. "We're here for the heroes and I'm so grateful I get to be here. I'll probably be a sobbing mess because we all know I like to cry. I feel amazing," she said.

Revealing she designed her ballgown herself, Ella said: "I think it speaks for itself given what's going on at the minute. I'm all about trans representation. I've done the [trans lives matter] hair grips and now it's time for the dress.

Opening up about life since the show, the star added: "The amount of things and opportunities coming my way are amazing. And that's not why I went on the show but the fact that I can now be a voice. I'm just glad I can be a relatable inspiration. The messages I've had have been so overwhelming, I have had some hate but the amount of good positive messages. I saw a girl here today who said 'I messaged you because you're the only one I wanted to meet', and I was like, 'what, me?'”

The transgender star had a few stern words for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak after he was accused of instigating a culture war when he made his feelings clear on transgender people during his speech at the Tory party conference last week. Ella said: "We are here and we are not going anywhere. I'm going to be at the protest on Wednesday outside Number 10. It's not right."

After taking the red carpet by storm, Ella continued to party the night away with fellow celebs, striking up a friendship with boy band star Duncan James. Married At First Sight fans are yet to see whether Ella and Nathaniel's romance blossoms on the show. Her relationship isn't the only one under the spotlight, as it has now been revealed that fellow contestant Brad Skelly has been booted from the show after concerns over 'unhealthy' behaviour.

The 27-year-old model from Grimsby was in a whirlwind marriage with performing arts teacher Shona Manderson, 31, but the pair's intense relationship left alarm bells ringing with the E4 show's dating experts. Brad was slammed by his fellow contestants for revealing intimate details about his and Shona's sex life, and was warned by the show's experts for the language he used towards his wife, including telling her to "shut up" at a dinner party.

Watch The Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards with TSB on Thursday at 8pm on ITV1.
