Chloe Madeley opens up about parents' marriage ahead of new reality show

Chloe Madeley reckons her parents' marriage is 'unrealistic' as she opens up about her relationship with James Haskell in a new reality show.

The new mum, 36, who is the daughter of former king and queen of daytime TV, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, gave birth to daughter, Bodhi, in August after getting hitched to rugby star, James, in 2018. However, she admits her marriage is nothing like her famous parents'.

Opening up about Richard and Judy, who presented This Morning together for 13 years, ahead of new series, At Home With The Madeleys, Chloe said: "In what world is theirs a realistic reflection of a marriage? They woke up together, they’d go to work together, they’d come home together, have dinner together and spend their weekends together. And that was life.

"Like any normal couple, sometimes they got on and sometimes they had arguments, but they were forced always to make amends quickly because they had to do the show live every day. Growing up with that is, I think, partly why I struggled when James started working as a DJ — travelling and staying away from home — because it created a very different family dynamic to the one I was used to, " reports MailOnline.

Having stopped playing rugby four years ago, James has now turned his hand to DJing, playing to packed-out crowds all over the world, which means he is away from home for 'several days most weeks'. Admitting adjusting to parenthood under these circumstances has been challenging, Chloe says she 'wondered whether their marriage would survive'. Sharing more detail about her reality show, she said a big theme of it is "a new mum whose husband is away a lot".

At Home With The Madeleys, which also features Richard and Judi, promises an in-depth look at the personal trainer's life as she adjusts to motherhood. However, something viewers probably won't be learning more about is Chloe's sex life with her husband.

The new mum has never previously been shy when it comes to discussing that side of her relationship, once claiming she and James had sex every night. But it seems she's staying mum about their bedroom antics from now on, revealing: "I have made a promise to James, and he to me, that neither of us is going to talk publicly about our sex lives any more."
