A small shop in the heart of Disneyland has become the latest sensation among park visitors thanks to social media.
Silhouette Studio, located on Main Street, USA, has been creating magical memories for Disneyland attendees for decades. However, it wasn't until a TikTok user shared her experience on the platform that this hidden gem truly caught the public's eye.
Nestled discreetly past the bustling Market House and adjacent to the Crystal Arts store, Silhouette Studio has been an unassuming presence at Disneyland since its opening on July 19, 1955. But it recently gained attention thanks to the TikTok video posted by user @emmwee, which went viral with millions of views.

In the video, visitors are seen sitting in front of skilled artists who swiftly craft their silhouettes from black paper. The finished product, a striking black outline against Disneyland-themed paper, is then framed in an elegant black-and-gold border. Astonishingly, this enchanting memento costs $12 (£9.8), with an option to add the frame for an additional $20 (£16).

The TikTok video, which was shared on July 1, 2023, has garnered an astounding 18.7 million views, sparking a wave of curiosity among Disney fans. This hidden gem allows visitors to have their silhouettes cut by Disney artists, creating a unique and personalized keepsake.
Upon entering the quaint studio, visitors are greeted with a heartwarming ambience. The artists, visible through the shop's glass window, delicately cut profiles with meticulous precision. An assistant then carefully adheres the silhouettes to paper adorned with the iconic Disneyland logo.
In an Insider article, Melissa Wells shared her experience visiting Silhouette Studio inspired by the viral TikTok video she had seen earlier in the year. As a lifelong Disney fan, she had never noticed this small shop before and was intrigued to explore it.

Social media user @emmwee visited Silhouette Studio on Main Street (sneyfoodblog/TikTok)Describing the process, Melissa explained how she and her sister sat in front of a Disney artist inside Silhouette Studio, where their silhouettes were expertly cut from black paper. An assistant then pasted these intricate black outlines, resembling their profiles, onto paper decorated with the Disneyland logo.
Melissa wrote: "During my visit, nearly everyone I spoke to in the winding line said they'd seen one video or another mentioning this shop, and that's what inspired them to take time out of their Disney day to wait for this souvenir."
Getting a silhouette done is quick, taking around 10 minutes, but be prepared for a wait, as the shop can get quite busy due to its newfound popularity on social media. Despite the 40-minute wait in line, Melissa expressed her satisfaction with the experience and praised the studio for creating a cherished keepsake of her and her sister, showcasing the final product in a frame.
"This charming shop created a keepsake of my sister and me that I will cherish for years to come," Melissa wrote, adding: "I highly recommend this to any fellow Disney fan looking for a precious and unique souvenir from the happiest place on Earth."
