As my alarm went off at 5.30am on Sunday morning I immediately pressed snooze, deciding to forfeit my service station breakfast on the way to Labour conference in Liverpool for a drive through Starbucks with my fiance Sam.

Once I’d made it here, I spoke at an event organised by My Life My Say, the campaign to get every single young person voting. We need to get more of them engaged in politics. It's so important they have their say.

Politics needs to be digestible and easily understandable so they can see how it relates to their lives.

I talked about the importance of using social media to give a voice to people who don't have one. I think as influencers it is important for us to use our platforms wisely.

I’ve decided that Florence Eshalomi is my new favourite MP, after watching her speak at a Labour Students event on breaking down barriers. She’s so inspiring.
