Sacha Baron Cohen shares heartbreaking appeal for missing mum and children
Sacha Baron Cohen has shared a heartbreaking appeal for a missing mum and her two young children in the wake of escalating tensions between Israel and Gaza. Hamas militants launched thousands of rockets and sent scores of fighters into Israeli towns close to the Gaza strip on Saturday morning during a major Jewish holiday.
The Borat and Ali G star took to Instagram to share a snap of missing Doron and her girls, Raz and Aviv. The image was accompanied by the words: "Please share with all your might. Hamas is holding Doron and her two little girls Raz and Aviv."
It continued: "They are documented in the video of the abduction to Gaza. May the whole world see these faces and bring them home to us." After 14 hours, 51-year old Sacha's post had received almost 50,000 likes.
Social media has been filled with videos showing Hamas fighters dragging lifeless Israeli soldiers on the ground and parading captured civilians through the streets of Gaza. In one harrowing video, a bloodied woman was marched into the back of a vehicle with her hands bound behind her back.
Photos also showed an abducted elderly Israeli woman surrounded by gunmen being taken back into Gaza on a golf buggy, and another woman squeezed between two fighters on a motorcycle. Other images appeared to show fighters parading what seemed to be captured Israeli military vehicles through Gaza streets, and a dead Israeli soldier being dragged and trampled by a crowd of Palestinians.
