Strictly's Motsi Mabuse accidentally lets slip daughter's name during live show

Motsi Mabuse accidentally revealed her daughter’s name during Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing show.

The 42-year-old welcomed her only child with husband and former dance partner Evgenij Voznyuk back in 2018, but the couple have been careful to keep her out of the spotlight and have never publicly shared her name.

But while giving feedback to Sex Education star Layton Williams and his professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, Motsi mistakenly called Nikita by her daughter’s name before correcting herself.

She said: “I have to say the acting part, the sentiment of all that. I think it’s so beautiful. Your fingers when you dance, they look so detailed, so beautiful. I just feel, just as detailed as you are with other things, other things have to be more detailed.”

It was then her daughter’s name slipped out, as she continued: “The centre is too open, so if it’s open it’s difficult for [start of daughter’s name]. I’m sorry. I just said my daughter’s name.

“You know I’m a mum! I'm a mum! Nikita and my daughter’s names are quite similar. Sorry everybody. So Nikita can’t lead it with an open centre. And the second thing, is watch the feet.”

Although Motsi often posts on social media, she rarely shares photos of her daughter. Up until the slip up, she has never revealed her name. Any snaps she has shared have been of the back of her head so she can’t be publicly identified.

Back in August, Motsi and husband Evgenij – who run a dance school together in Germany where they live – posted a rare video dancing with their daughter to celebrate her fifth birthday.

In the cute clip, the trio show off their moves – proving dancing definitely runs in the family - as their daughter claps her hands. Motsi captioned the post: “And just like that we are 5 years old!!!”

The proud mama continued: “Every day you bless us with joy!!! Definitely by far the best thing that has ever happened to me #birthdaygirl”. Revealing why she keeps her little one out of the spotlight, the Strictly judge recently told The Guardian: “We did one video because she turned five, but as much as I love talking about her, we keep it all so separate."

While Motsi is loved up with second husband Evgenij, she is currently in a dispute with her first husband Timo Kulczak over comments she made in her autobiography, Finding My Own Rhythm.

Earlier this year it was reported Timo was suing Motsi after she alleged he limited her access to money, controlled what she ate and stopped her having a baby during their 11-year marriage.

Timo has denied the claims and The Sun reported his lawyer had allegedly asked a German court to jail the TV judge for up to six months or fine her £250,000 if she repeated her previously made claims.

But hitting back, Motsi's spokesperson insisted "no such written court order exists" and told the Mirror: "It is categorically untrue that our client faces imprisonment with regards to her former husband’s civil lawsuit, or that a fine, which would only be payable if our client culpably violates a court order, would be more than a nominal amount. There is no legal basis for this lawsuit. To reiterate, our client reserves all rights in this matter."
