Comedian Josh Widdicombe is best known for showing off his wit on Channel 4's The Last Leg, but he's not the only one in his family who works within the television industry.

Josh will join Anita Rani, Babatunde Aleshe, Ekin-Su, Gyles Brandreth, Nick Knowles and Stacey Dooley on Michael McIntyre's The Wheel offering advice on train stations as he expert topic. The comedian is known for several TV appearances and comedy tours while his wife Rose Hanson stays out of the spotlight.

Rose married the comedian back in 2019 and is involved behind-the-scenes of some of TV's beloved programmes. She works within the industry from behind the camera as a producer on shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Live at the Apollo.

The producer previously worked as a researcher for Never Mind the Buzzcocks and assistant producer for shows including Alan Carr: Chatty Man and Would I Lie To You?. Rose's love for TV runs in the family as her mum was behind creating Zippy – one of the puppet's from 80s kids show Rainbow.

Speaking on Rob Brydon podcast, Josh said: "I'd be lying if I said that hadn't crossed my mind at points in the sense there's an obvious comparison to be made. And then the thought of your mum creating a fictional character that you then, not end up marrying, but if there's a Hollywood movie and it turned out that Zippy had been made into a human, and then it was me, it wouldn't be outlandish."

Josh and Rose tied the knot six years after meeting and have two children together – daughter, Pearl, who was born in October 2017 and a son, Cassius, who was born in May 2021.

The comedian previously opened up on his wife’s miscarriage during an episode of Parenting Hell – the podcast he presents with fellow comedian Rob Beckett.

“The reason I haven’t spoken about it is because when Rose was pregnant which came after the miscarriage, you feel like - I know this sounds mad - but you don’t want to tempt fate,” he explained. “I was just like, ‘I just want to get to the end of this.’ I didn’t feel like I wanted say, ‘but now we’ve got a happy ending because we’re pregnant again’, because you still feel like you’re part of it.

“When you’re pregnant after a miscarriage, every day feels perilous, like it could go wrong in the way you just don’t feel before.”
