Facialist shares skincare tips to reverse aging and one mistake you should avoid
We all know that ageing is an inevitable process in our life but an army of women are still on the quest to look for the key to the "fountain of youth".
Celebrities who are obsessed with looking preternaturally young even go for great lengths to erase any signs of ageing on their face. Jennifer Aniston, 54, revealed she tried salmon sperm facial to maintain her youthful look and Sandra Bullock admitted using haemorrhoid cream to get rid of her puffy eye bags.
The beauty market is also filled with all sorts of products to help women to rewind the age clock, from powerful vitamin serums, like Vitamin B5, C and E to potent cream like retinol and peptides. It can be confusing overwhelming, so I spoke to skincare expert Emma Coleman and asked for her top tips to age gracefully.

As a dermatology, aesthetic nurse practitioner and Magnitone ambassador, Emma stands by two key products to help banish fine lines and brighten complexion without getting any injections.
Kate Middleton swears by £19.99 rosehip oil that helps 'reduce wrinkles & scars'She shared: "The best two anti-ageing ingredients are sunscreen, or SPF moisturiser for the day time, all year round, and retinol for night time and it's good to have facials once a month.
Suncream with a minimum factor of SPF 30 can block harmful UVA and UVB rays and stop your skin from developing age spots, pigmentation or melasma and moles.
Olay has a range of SPF face creams that include different active ingredients - Niacinamide for age-defying, Regenerist for a natural glow, Vitamin C to brighten complexion and Collagen for elasticity.
For a higher SPF, Aussie brand Coco and Eve's bestselling Daily Radiance Primer Sunscreen comes with a high SPF50. It has been rated five stars by industry experts.
"Introduce retinol to your skincare routine from a small dosage and do it in a two-week increment, use one or twice a night for two weeks to see how your face is and then increase to three to four times a week and then five to seven times," Emma continued.
"Serums have low molecular weight so they are designed to be absorbed more quickly and more deeply into the skin, whereas moisturisers are designed to sit more on the surface of the skin."
When you buy retinol products, you might come across a percentage mark on the label and that's for shoppers to identify the dosage of active ingredient inside. For first-time users, you can try Korean beauty brand Corsx's Retinol 0.1 cream as the optimal ratio of key ingredients helps prevent and correct early signs of aging before they set in.
And regular users can try PerriconeMD's High Potency Retinol Recovery Overnight Moisturiser, which comes with three forms of retinol to help support during the skin’s natural recovery and renewal process.
However, Emma reminded not to overuse retinol as you will get something like "a burn or a rash on the skin, or even pigmented spots", which will need to be treated by a skincare specialist or dermatologist.
When it comes to tackling sagging skin, a beauty device can make a difference in lifting and firming the skin.
Beauty fans 'love' £11 serum that gets rid of skin blemishes and acne overnightThe Magnitone ambassador said: "Use a device such as the Face Rocket, will help. You can put it on different settings to massage the product in better.
"The cryotherapy one for massage or use it with serum to get it deeper to the skin. When doing it, use circular motions and upward motions always, you don't want to be coming in a downward or horizontal movement. Absolutely not!"
So next time when you apply creams or serums, stop rubbing in and wiping them across your face in. Spend a minute or two to massage it in an upward motion, it helps lifting your skin against gravity.
