Emmerdale death 'confirmed' as fans fear tragedy for Lydia as Craig 'caught out'
Emmerdale fans fear tragedy could be in store for Lydia Dingle after exposing rapist Craig in harrowing scenes.
Viewers tonight saw tormented Lydia confide in friend Kim Tate but she is concerned she's left it too late for her cruel former flame to taste justice. She detailed how he attacked her in their office - and told her nobody would ever believe her story. Craig and Lydia had bumped into each other after decades apart, not having seen each other since they were young teens.
But it looks like Craig could soon be caught out, as Kim stumbled across Lydia in the middle of the road and she let the truth slip. Confiding her her friend, they talked it through and laid bare her harrowing rape ordeal as heartbreaking scenes that left fans emotional.

"He said that I couldn't help myself, that I had given into temptation. It's like he couldn't see what he had done. I went to the police, I was so scared of facing it. He told me nobody would believe me, because of our history. That I pretended to be someone else, that I was unstable.
Kim replied: "The other week, you must have been terrified." Lynda went on: "I was shaking. I tried again 'you raped me' - but he said I didn't, that I enjoyed it. He said if he was going to start raping people, who would I start with me?' Even you thought I had been cheating.

Kim told her: "I judged you by my own standards, jumped to conclusions. But I believe every word you say now. I won't be the only one." But heartbreakingly, she went on: "But as Craig said, if it really was rape them why did I keep it to myself for so long. It's too late."
She broke down at the side of the road as Kim was quick to comfort her (ITV)Earlier, Mandy Dingle accused Lydia of cheating on her husband Sam, with Samson furiously leaking rumours of their supposed 'affair'. Lydia lost it with Mandy, screaming at her: "I would never, ever cheat on Sam or do anything to hurt him. I have done everything I can to protect Sam so he doesn't feel any pain!"
She stormed out before she could let slip the truth about what happened, but with Samson returning to his apprenticeship under Craig's tutelage, fans think Lydia could do something drastic to escape her own pain. Taking to Twitter – one fan wrote: "At this point I can see Lydia killing herself with the way Samson is treating her and Mandy accusing her! This is horrible to watch [crying emoji]."
Someone else fumed: "Shouting 'shut up Mandy' at the TV, shouting 'just tell her the truth Lydia!' at the TV... gonna have a sore throat by end of tonight's episode!!!" Another viewer wrote: "Imagine how Mandy would feel if she found Lydia in danger or during an attempt..." As a fourth penned: "Lydia’s going to commit suicide at this point, f*** Mandy!"
"Craig has been attacking women for years... Lydia is definitely not his first victim... and as Kim said... it's never too late to speak up." Another agreed: "Who thinks Craig has done this before? And gotten away with it? And who thinks his other victim(s) will get in touch with Lydia?" and a third said: "I think that it was rape the first time, too, when Lydia got pregnant with Toby. But that Lydia has blocked that out."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
