Laurence Fox breaks silence on arrest as police 'take his son's iPads'
Laurence Fox has broken his silence on his arrest as he claims police have taken all his electronic devices – including his son’s iPads.
The former actor turned right-wing political party leader was taken into custody on Wednesday after Met Police confirmed a 45-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to ULEZ cameras and encouraging or assisting offences to be committed.
As police searched his house in Stockwell, South London, Fox filmed officers putting his property into bags in a video which was later shared on his Reclaim Party Twitter account. He is heard saying: “Look how many coppers there are in my house.. this is the world we’re living in.”
Confirming he has since been released, Fox took to the social media platform again – this time from his personal account – to give his 426,000 followers an update on his past 24 hours in custody.
He wrote: “Hello. I’m back. Had to get a new phone as the 6 police who were barrelling into my house yesterday have taken every electronic device, including my boys’ iPads. Which is just plain malicious. I have a lot to say about the last few days. Speak in a bit. Never give in.”

Actor turned right-wing politician Laurence Fox broke his silence after being released by police (PA)Best known for his roles in Lewis, Victoria and 2001 psychological horror film The Hole, Fox also released two music albums before embarking on a political career and founding the right-wing Reclaim Party in 2020, which he is leader of.
This led to TV appearances on the likes of GB News, which he was recently sacked from after launching a verbal attack against journalist Ava Evans live on air following her opinion on the idea of having a minister for men, which she discussed on Politics Live.
The actor branded Ava a "little woman" and remarked "who'd wanna shag that" in the disgusting broadcast on GB News, which later saw himself and host fired. The exchange, which took place on Dan Wootton Tonight, has become the most complained about moment on TV this year, according to watchdog Ofcom.
Dan has since issued a grovelling apology in the wake of the backlash. While Fox stood firm on his comments, before later issuing an apology to Ava in a 15 minute video shared on Twitter in which he also slammed GB News and former friend Dan.
Speaking to the camera, he said he knew GB News were going to sack him, but he wanted to clear his own conscience by apologising to Ava for using the word 'shag' in his rant. However, he said he stood by what he said in telling all self-respecting men to 'run a mile' from her.
Fox later said he found out he had been sacked by GB News from a police officer while he was being questioned in custody. "They [police officers] went; 'By the way, you've been sacked and there's loads of paparazzi out there'. And I was like 'phew'." Asked about his arrest, Fox added: "They've let me go. It's Sadiq Khan's 'make a big thing out of Loz'. If Sadiq Khan thinks he can scare me, I've been intimidated by his coppers before."
