Gemma Atkinson jokingly revealed her partner Gorka Marquez has cheeky requests every time he returns home from Strictly Come Dancing.

The 38-year-old and fiancé spend a lot of time apart due to his work as a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing. And now that the dance competition has returned to screens, Gorka, 33, has been busier than ever rehearsing in London while Gemma is at home in Manchester.

When he finally returns home from dancing with Nikita Kanda after several weeks apart, Gemma joked that he sometimes wants her to put on lingerie. However, she only wants to have a good night's rest as he looks after their children - newborn son Thiago and four-year-old daughter Mia.

Speaking on a recent episode of her podcast The Overshare, she revealed: "My fella works away a lot and I often say to my producer Matt, 'Gorka's back on Thursday, I've not seen him for three weeks, he's going to want the lingerie and all this'. And all I want to do is get in bed and he will text me saying 'Can't wait for tonight' and I'm like, 'oh God' because for me I can't wait for tonight because it means you can get up and I can get some sleep."

Gorka recently shared his heartbreak at leaving home to work on the BBC programme after being paired with BBC Asian Network radio star Nikita. Sharing a selection of images for fans on Instagram of his family, Gorka wrote: "Last one at home for a while” with a red heart emoji and the hashtag "home".

The Spanish professional dancer shared a selfie with Mia, a picture of Gemma and Mia looking after Thiago as well as a picture of Mia at home. Fans rushed to support Gorka, with one woman, Kathy, writing: "Oh Gorks, feel for ya," and another, Julie, saying: "Good luck, your beautiful family will be cheering you on along with the rest of us."

Gemma and Gorka first met on Strictly in 2017, although they weren’t Strictly partners - with Gorka partnered with Alexandra Burke and Gemma with Aljaž Škorjanec. Rumours swirled around the couple during the show until February 2018 when the pair went public with their romance. She insisted however that they were “genuinely” not together while competing on the show.

By the end of the year, Gemma announced she was pregnant with their daughter Mia, who was born in July 2019. On Valentine's Day in 2021, Gorka finally popped the question. Earlier this year, Gorka and Gemma welcomed their second child, Thiago.
