Man who found bodies of wife and kids in murder-suicide says 'I'm dead inside'
A man has said he feels "dead inside" after losing his estranged wife and two kids in a murder-suicide case.
Derek Johnson, 33, a devastated father in Alabama, recently experienced a tragic incident where his estranged wife, Nancy Johnson, murdered their two young children, Jacob, two years old and Mia, five years old, amid a custody battle.
Johnson expressed profound grief and devastation after discovering the tragic loss of his two children and his wife, stating that he felt "dead inside" and described himself as a broken man. Derek had separated from Nancy and was living in an RV on their property according to their separation agreement.
On September 28, Derek found his children dead inside their home, drowned in a bathtub, with Nancy having taken her own life. The couple's relationship had deteriorated, leading to a divorce request from Nancy, who exhibited increasingly erratic behaviour.

Tragically, Nancy's mental health deteriorated further, leading to this devastating incident. Derek is not a suspect in the case. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to support him with funeral costs.
Derek shared his shock and disbelief at the horrifying scene, where his wife had drowned their children in a bathtub before taking her own life. He described how he had plans for his kids and how his purpose in life was taken away. Derek told Fox News: "I'm dead inside. I feel lost. I have nothing, absolutely nothing, and I don’t know how I’m going to recover. I just know I’m going to miss them all."

He said: "I looked to my right and saw my son and daughter, and they were covered in blankets. It looked like they were taking a nap. I put my hand on my son’s back to wake him up and realised he was completely stiff and had foam coming out of his nose and mouth."

Derek then went on talking about his wife: "She didn’t want me to have the kids. The kids were hers, and if she had to share them, she was going to take them with her.
