Ozzy Osbourne shared an update on his health with fans recently, with the former Black Sabbath member having said that he felt "lighter than air" when he got the news.

The singer-songwriter, 74, spoke about his health on the new episode of The Osbournes podcast. He appears on it with his wife Sharon Osbourne, 70, and their two youngest children Kelly Osbourne, 38, and Jack Osbourne, 37.

During the episode, which was released on Tuesday, there was a discussion about Ozzy's health. It saw him share an update, after having seemingly received some news from his doctor just days before the episode was recorded.

Asked how he's doing at the moment, Ozzy said: "I went last Monday and they said I'm blood clot free." He then seemed to suggest that he had treatment over an artery scheduled now but "after that it's just back to physical therapy".

It was subsequently revealed that Ozzy is planning to take up tai chi. Jack commented: "You're gonna do tai chi?" Ozzy responded: "I'm gonna try to. It's good for balance." Kelly then shared her thoughts on his plan to do the martial art.

She commented: "Oh my god, this is the best news I have heard in so long. Jack, do you realise that they say that it's the number one thing to help with mobility and Parkinson's." Kelly continued: "We've been trying to get Dad to do it."

Further sharing his thoughts later in the same episode, Ozzy said: "I'm feeling happier. Yesterday, I was lighter than air, when I got the news of the bloodclots, cause it takes forever to get rid of them." Sharon said: "It's taken three months."

Ozzy is said to have undergone six operations in the last four years. Sharon said that he has another scheduled for later this month, after Ozzy had said earlier in the episode that he's "got to do something with one of [his] arteries".

The singer - who shared in 2020 that he'd been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease - had spinal surgery last year after injuring his back in 2019, which is said to have aggravated an injury from a bike accident in 2003. He announced recently that he'd had his final surgery on his neck after "years of absolute hell".

Ozzy spoke to SiriusXM in July about having had blood clots in his leg, saying: "Cause I had the blood clots in my leg, they put a filter in your artery to stop the blood clots going to your heart and your brain." He said at the time that he went to have it removed and that the clots had "jammed it all up".
