Carol Vorderman put off remarrying after MAFS and happy with 'special friends'
Carol Vorderman has said she's been put off remarrying after watching Married At First Sight.
The former Countdown star admitted that despite enjoying the dating show, she wouldn't ever go on it herself and says it has put her off dating altogether. When asked if she was happy being single, she went off on a tangent and talked about her love for MAFS.
The star, who got divorced from second husband Patrick King in 2000, has been honest in the past about having multiple "special men" in her life who she regularly meets up with. She has been clear that she's not fussed about a serious relationship.
Speaking to OK!, Carol said: "I am very happy. As I’ve had Covid recently, I’ve had time to watch the telly. I started watching MAFS Australia. I don’t usually watch shows like that. I watched about 20 hours of it. My conclusion is, I’m glad I’m single!"
Back in January the mum-of-two said she was dating five men but doesn't do one night stands. Appearing on Michelle Visage's Rule Breakers, she discussed the 'system' she put in place for the past decade. "No!" she said when asked if she's in a relationship. "I'm having the best time. I've spoken about this once. I have a system which I've had for 10 years. They're called 'special friends'. I spoke a couple of months ago about having 'special friends' and it was like, again, the world had fallen in for some people but actually what I found was there was an awful lot of women who said 'I'd never thought about it like this'."

She has been dating some of them for many years. "One's 11 years, one's seven years, you know everyone is single. It's a happy place. I hasten to add I'm not into one night stands," Carol explained.
Carol was first married in 1985 at age 24 to Christopher Mather, a Royal Navy officer, but the pair split after just 12 months together. She then married management consultant Patrick King in 1990 at age 30, with the couple welcoming two children into the world together before going their separate ways in 2000.
