David Beckham ignores backlash and gives daughter Harper loving kiss at premiere

David Beckham gave his daughter a loving kiss on her head as the Beckham family attended the premiere of their Netflix documentary.

The family posed on the red carpet at The Curzon, Mayfair, on Tuesday, as they celebrated the release of the honest and open documentary about David's career and his and Victoria's relationship over the years. At one point, David, 48, wrapped his arm around his daughter Harper, 12, while chatting to other attendees at the event.

David looked suave in a white button-up top and navy suit and a matching tie while Harper looked elegant in a baby pink dress which she accessorised with simple jewellery. At one point, he leaned down to plant a sweet kiss on her forehead while she stood next to her father.

Over the years, the Beckhams discussed being a loving and affectionate family – but David has faced backlash for kissing his daughter Harper on the lips in the past. David even had to jump to his family's defence after some fans criticised him for kissing his children. Just last week, David divided fans when he kissed Harper on the lips as she applied his makeup for Victoria Beckham's Paris Fashion Week show.

He took to his Instagram to share a clip of her expertly applying his makeup while they both sang along to Taylor Swift's hit song Style. Captioning the post, he wrote: "My little makeup artist is good & has a great playlist @taylorswift... We are on our way mummy @victoriabeckham."

At the end of the video, after Harper sprayed his face with setting spray, the two shared a little kiss as they prepared for Posh Spice's runway show at Paris Fashion Week.

Back in 2017, footballer David was forced to defend kissing his children after receiving criticism from fans. Speaking to followers, he said: "We want to show our kids love. I got criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day. I kiss all my kids on the lips. Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn's 18, he might find that a little bit strange."

He added: "But I'm very affectionate with the kids. It's how I was brought up and Victoria, and it's how we are with our children. We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and you know, we're very affectionate with them."
