Ozzy Osbourne hit out at his son Jack Osbourne in a heated debate over "humane" hunting.

During the latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast on YouTube, rocker Ozzy, wife Sharon and daughter Kelly discussed the controversial issue of hunting, after Jack discussed the outrage he caused when he uploaded photos of him killing a deer. “Did you guys see the Daily Mail today? About everyone going mental because I posted pictures of me going hunting?” Jack asked, as his mum looked disapprovingly at him.

He tried to defend himself as he told his mum he wasn’t holding a gun but a “bow and arrow”, adding: "And people went f***ing nuts. They lost their s**t,” as Sharon interrupted, telling him: “You know I don’t like it.”

Ozzy tried to address the issue with his son, but Jack continued his rant, as he criticised his family for being hypocritical for disliking him hunting, but also being meat eaters. However, the Black Sabbath frontman had had enough, and simply stated: “Let me explain something to you… No.”

The famous family burst into fits of laughter, but the conversation rumbled on, as Jack still tried to defend his hunting hobby. “Here’s the thing. You have always said this to me,” he said, pointing at his father. “If you eat meat, you should be prepared to know how to do it.”

But Ozzy wasn’t backing down, and told him: “If you had a chicken, if you have any meat or whatever, you should be prepared, one time in your life, to go and see how it’s made. Like f***ing sausages. Sausages are garbage. They used to say in the butcher trade - the only thing that’s wasted on a pig is its squeal. Everything else they use.” Sharon asked: “Don’t they put the hooves in sausages too?” as Ozzy replied: “They use absolutely everything for something or other.”

Jack argued that hunting “deer and elk” was more sustainable and kinder to the animals he killed, which prompted Ozzy to fire back: “I don’t think a deer or an elk would be happy with a f***ing bow in its back.” The reality star insisted that the animals he hunts and consumes are “far happier than the cow you ate in that cheeseburger a day ago.” Jack continued: “That cow was kept in a cage, fed s**t, and then had a bolt put through its head while he watched all his friends die. The point I’m making is that hunting is incredibly humane, it’s very organic meat…” he added, while dad Ozzy shook his head.

“If you eat meat, what’s the need, what’s the necessity, to go out and shoot a f***ing deer when you can go to the shop and buy it?” the Paranoid hitmaker said. “Why kill it? You don’t need to eat it. If you want meat, you can go and get some cow meat or chicken meat.” Defending his hunting, Jack told his dad that the animals slaughtered for their meat on a large scale have a “sh***y life” compared to the ones he kills in the wild, as Sharon piped up and claimed cows “cry” before they’re killed.

“We exist as humans because of hunting,” Jack stated, as sister Kelly chimed in: “I think what everyone’s trying to (say) is you’re not hunting because you have to - you’re hunting because you want to.” Ozzy told his son he believed hunting was okay when “the larder is empty, you have no dough and you have to eat”, but said it was better for animal welfare - and the environment - if people consumed what was already available, rather than killing more animals just for the sake of it.

Viewers of the podcast heaped praise on the family for tackling “touchy issues”, and many were overjoyed to see Ozzy looking fit and well. “It's great seeing Ozzy straight and fully able. As a long time fan I love it,” one wrote, as another added: “You can say what you want about them, but you can always find the love in this family.” While one wrote: “It just feels like sitting round the table with the family, having a chat,” and another viewer agreed: “Even when they disagree (the hunting stuff) they do so without any malice. It's my aim to have my family turn out like this.”
