Jamie Theakston warned thieves stole the "wrong" car after his beloved vintage Triumph was taken overnight. Exactly one year after his first vehicle was taken, the TV and radio star reveals his family has suffered another heartbreaking theft.

The 52-year-old's bright green classic Triumph was taken on Sunday night, a vehicle Jamie's wife Sophie says was his "pride and joy". The 1977 convertible is "completely unique" and the presenter says the criminals have made a mistake.

Writing on X, formally Twitter, Heart FM's Jamie blasted: "To the p***k who stole our car last night - you picked the wrong one - it's completely unique and everyone is looking for it - spread the word." He attached two snaps of the beloved Stag.

His wife Sophie also shared the "horrible news", calling for help to find the "cherished" motor and appealing for any information. One of the couple's neighbours replied to the thread with a less-than optimistic response, suggesting the car was long gone.

"I have had two cars stolen from outside my house in Chiswick. I'm a couple of roads away from you," they replied: "The police couldn't have been less interested. One was eventually found in a police pound in Dagenham and the other was never seen again. I hope yours turns up unscathed soon."

In October last year, Jamie told listeners on Heart that his first car was stolen. He recalled: "It was 2am when my doorbell rings and it's the police. They say 'Mr Theakston your car has been stolen. It's just appeared on a tracker and it's about an hour away'."

It didn't take him long to figure out who had taken the car at the time. Theakston added: "I quickly realised that the woman had nicked the keys off the table in the hall-way." Police managed to find the vehicle after what he called a "dramatic night".

Jamie has been happily married to wife Sophie Siegel since 2007. While many may remember him as the charismatic host of Top of the Pops from 1998 to 2003, he is now mostly known for his shows on the radio.

His journey into radio began for Jamie when he was just 23 years old. He caught the attention of the BBC head of sport and he was recruited to host Greater London Radio's Saturday Sport Show. His radio stardom continued to soar as he went on to present a plethora of shows for Radio 5 Live.

However, it was in 1999 when he made a significant move to Radio 1, where he took the reins of the Sunday Lunch show. In 2002, Jamie ventured into acting. His career included appearances in Agatha Christie's Marple and Little Britain.

In 2005, Jamie returned to the airwaves, joining Heart 106.2 to co-host the Heart Breakfast show alongside Harriet Scott. Today, Jamie hosts the breakfast show with Amanda Holden, who took over from Spice Girl Emma Bunton in 2018.
