Sia reveals she has undergone a facelift after masking her face for years

Singer Sia reveals she has undergone a facelift.

The Chandelier hitmaker shared she had undergone the major cosmetic procedure as she took to the stage on Sunday at the 5th annual Daytime Beauty Awards in Los Angeles.

While presenting her "good friend" Dr Talei with the Outstanding Achievement in Medicine award, Sia opened up about her own body image struggles.

The singer, 47, who has disguised her face for years with various masks and disguises revealed to the audience that she has recently gone under the knife.

MailOnline reported she said: "I'm a pop star that normally hides my face and doesn't lie about s**t. I got an amazing face lift from Dr. Talei. He is incredible. And he is doing so much good work—and not just for the pop stars of the world."

Dr Talei then remarked: "I don't know if you guys know how amazing Sia is as a person. We have a lot of common friends and it's always shocking how many keep saying, 'I love her, I love her, I love her. She's amazing."

Sia added: "I don't want to be critiqued about the way that I look on the internet. I've been writing pop songs for pop stars for a couple of years, and I've become friends with them and see what their life is like, and that's not something I want."

Sia has been wearing various disguises over the years since she was catapulted to superstardom in the noughties, having first broke into the music industry in 1995.

Speaking in 2015, Sia, real name Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, shared how she hoped to eventually ditch the wigs for good. Chatting on 2DayFM radio station, Sia revealed: "As I had hoped and planned, it's the blonde bob that's become iconic. I am going to do prosthetics, so I'm going to alter my face slightly.

"So you can't really peg if I have had surgery, if I have had a little bit of weird surgery. I'm not going to do any kind of whacky stuff, I am still going to look like a human being."

Speaking on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke in 2018, she added: "I don't wear this thing unless there are cameras around. Just trying to maintain a modicum of privacy."
