Corrie's Stephen will go after Tim before his plans his escape

Stephen Reid's reign of terror in Weatherfield is set to reach a dramatic climax, but Tim Metcalfe may find himself becoming the serial killer's final victim on Coronation Street.

The ITV soap have confirmed actor Todd Boyce will be finally saying goodbye to Stephen one way or another, but it's yet to be seen whether he will pay for his crimes or escape justice. Next week, Stephen continues to put his escape plan in motion, unaware that Wetherfield residents are beginning to suspect he could be capable of murder.

As he slowly realises that time isn't on his side, Stephen begins to panic as he searches for an escape route that'll ensure he can live his life in luxury rather than facing a lifetime behind bars. Carla Connor (Alison King) grows increasingly frustrated when her pleas to the police are ignored.

She's convinced he spiked her with LSD, but has no evidence to prove it and the police are reluctant to investigate as they don't want to alert him to the fact they suspect he's murdered Teddy and Leo. Will Peter be able to control his ager at Stephen or will he go after him?

Meanwhile, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) struggles to concentrate on his wife Sally's (Sally Dynevor) plans for their wedding anniversary when Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) mentions Stephen's interest in the canal dredging project. However, when Stephen realises Tim is suspicious, he decides on one final kill to set him free.

On the cobbles, Sally is left furious when she assumes Tim has gone to the county match with Kevin, but in reality her husband is fighting for his life in the boot of his car which is doused with petrol. Will someone realise Tim is in danger and save him in time?

Elsewhere, Coronation Street fans have shared their theories on how Stephen's reign of terror will come to an end. One said: "I’m so ready for Peter to kick the shit out of Satan Stephen, this has been a long time coming unleash protective beast mode," while another wrote: "#Corrie Is the Stephen story going to end without a major character getting killed, or is this the end for someone?"

"I'm just gonna throw out my #Corrie theory whilst I currently don't know how exactly Stephen's story ends: he'll get through the airport and think he is safe but will bump into his ex wife who will murder him probably in the airport bathroom or something," a third said.
