Netflix confirms Heartstopper Season 3 filming has begun with hint to Season 4
Heartstopper Season 3 filming is officially underway, much to the delight of the beloved TV show's devout fanbase.
Netflix confirmed on Monday that the third instalment of the British teen drama is currently in production, exactly two months after the second series premiered to rave reviews from both viewers and critics alike.
The US streaming platform took to Twitter to share the news that Season 3 was in the pipeline, posting a photo of Alice Oseman, the author of the LGBTQ+ webcomic for young adults that inspired Heartstopper, holding a clapperboard with the show's title.
Eagle eyed fans were also quick to spot that the dumbslate featured an illustration of protagonist Charlie Spring [Joe Locke] and his boyfriend Nick Nelson [Kit Connor], as well as four rusty leaves in the caption. The post comes a year after Oseman, 28, told fans to "watch this space!" following the positive reaction to the show's first series. We were overjoyed with the global reaction to Heartstopper and can’t wait to continue the story with two more seasons," she said via a Netflix press release.
It was recently reported that Heartstopper Season 3 will film some scenes in Windsor and Maidenhead, having previously used the picturesque Royal Borough to create its suburban setting in the first two seasons. Charlie's house is located on St Marks Road while scenes at the fictional Truman Grammar School, were shot at the E-Act Burnham Park Academy in the nearby Burnham.

"Can't wait," one person wrote, while another gushed, "Omg!!! I can't cope!!!" Others appear to already be thinking ahead, tagging Netflix and Alice Oseman to inquire about the four autumn leaves included in the post's caption.
"Anyone else notice the 4 in the announcement? Do you have something else to tell us?" one person asked, while another said, "Why the 4 leaves ? Are we gonna get a season 4?!"
Directed by Andy Newbery and written by Oseman, the first episode of Season 3 will be titled 'Love' and is expected to pick up from the major cliff-hanger that was Season 2's finale.
Fans were at the edge of their seats during the episode's closing scene, which saw Charlie type out the message, 'I love you' to Nick before hovering over the 'Send' button.
The emotional moment, which has since gone viral online, has left Heartstopper viewers naturally desperate to know if the 15-year-old ended up sharing his true feelings with Nick. It looks like they'll have to wait till next year to find out, though, with August 2024 being the speculated date for Season 3's premiere.
