As the walls close in on Coronation Street's Stephen Reid, viewers have seen the serial killer persuade Jenny to fly with him to Thailand in a desperate bid to escape his brutal crimes.

But now, in upcoming scenes, it looks as though Tim Metcalfe, who has been following Stephen's movements for some time, could be the killer's latest victim as he is seen emerging from his car covered in blood and bruises following a vicious attack. This comes after Stephen, played by Todd Boyce, has not only killed three people but had tried to get rid of Underworld factory boss Carla, by lacing her drinks with LSD.

And this was all in an attempt to become the factory boss. But now his attention has turned to Tim, played by Joe Duttine after his suspicions grew about the dark side of Stephen. Tim had worked out Stephen was trying to get his hands on his mother Elaine's cash.

In the behind the scene snaps, Tim is seen lying on the ground with blood seeping from his head on to his face and, at this stage, it remains unknown whether Tim will live or die. In another image, the loveable character is pictured with a nasty gash to the back of his head as he struggles to find his feet as kneels by the boot of the car.

In other images filmed in August as his possible exit storyline, Stephen is seen at the airport but again, it is unknown if his escape plan will come to fruition or will he finally get his comeuppance. Unaware that Stephen is a serial killer, Carla believed that she was suffering from psychosis having suffered with the mental health condition in the past.

But she now suspects Stephen had been lacing her coffee with doses of LSD, in a bid to take over as the boss of Underworld. After getting tested by a doctor, she realised that she had traces of the drug in her hair and it then dawned on her who had been spiking her drinks, after Michael mentioned that it was usually Sarah or Stephen that made the teas and coffee.

Taking her suspicions to DS Swain, Carla was told that she did not have enough evidence to even bring Stephen in to the police station for a chat and so she has been on a mission to prove his guilt. Todd took on the role of playing Weatherfield's villain last year after he took the life of Leo Thompkins. And since then he seems to have developed a taste for murder after killing Leo's dad Teddy and businessman Rufus.

However, Todd has already landed his next role starring in the pantomime Mother Goose at Derby Arena, which means his exit is certainly not far away. Speaking of his character's exit in upcoming scenes, Todd told the Metro: "We are going to see him start taking risks. As he gets more desperate, his life is starting to unravel and it is going to be interesting to see how he deals with the pressure. He is bound to start making mistakes and that could be his undoing."
