Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was forced to 'tell off' Jamie Redknapp as the pundit got too close to his side's warm-up ahead of their clash with Tottenham.

Klopp's men travelled to Spurs on Saturday evening, looking to protect their unbeaten record in the Premier League. Providing analysis ahead of the game was Redknapp, in his duties for Sky Sports.

The broadcaster is renowned for its innovative techniques for getting fans closer to the action. And on Saturday, it was decided that Redknapp would be sent for a closer look at Liverpool's warm-up.

But before he was able to single out summer signing Dominik Szoboszlai, Redknapp found himself on the wrong side of Klopp. The former Reds skipper revealed he had been told off by the German before the broadcast cut to him.

"I've just been told off actually by Jurgen Klopp for getting too close in a very nice way. But Szoboszlai what an impact he's making. Just a fantastic striker of the ball. When you sign a player, you never quite know how they're going to settle," Redknapp said.

"But he has just taken to that No.8 shirt. That shows you his confidence. Anyone who wants to wear that No.8, especially playing for Liverpool, with Steven Gerrard. But he has just taken to this like a duck to water.

"A magnificent footballer, so easy on the eye, beautiful striker of the ball, he makes the game look really easy. He also covers ground, wins the ball back for his team, he's been a revelation. He has just been absolutely fantastic this season, a real star.

"He just looks so at home in that red shirt. I think it helps him as well, playing in that midfield. When he was at Leipzig, he was playing in a wide area and for Liverpool now being given a central midfield role really suits him. He is the complete midfield player."

While the admonished Redknapp stayed in the same spot following Klopp's warning, the Sky cameraman was able to get close in on the warm-up. Though Klopp did appear to look over at Redknapp as the camera passed behind him.

Ahead of the game, Klopp warned his side they faced a difficult test, with star striker Darwin Nunez forced to drop to the bench.

"I know they’ll be a difficult task, I’ve been in this league for seven or eight years and they’ve been through some changes. Always super difficult to play against, and with Ange coming in, it’s been super intense for teams playing against them," Klopp told Sky Sports.

"They’re very lively on the ball, and I’m sure the Tottenham fans have been enjoying their season so far. Darwin, he pretty much ruled himself out a little bit. He bought something with him from the international break.

"A bone thing around the knee, it’s something that’s more painful at other times. Yesterday at training, he mentioned he couldn’t play right away so that’s why he’s coming off the bench and not ready to start."
