A woman was arrested for robbery after she returned to the store minutes after sticking it up to retrieve the cell phone she had dropped.

The woman was part of a duo who decided to rob a California nail supply store, initially making it out with around $600 worth of merchandise (491 GBP). Then, one of the ladies decided to come back into the store minutes after - demanding her phone. She had apparently dropped it during the getaway.

After retrieving her phone, the two suspects, who police identified to Fox News Digital as Kaydrianna Hall, 24, and Serenadi Banks, 19, left the scene in a black vehicle. They were sitting outside their home still in the car an hour later when police contacted them. Reports say that all the merchandise was in plain sight as the two women were arrested and taken to jail.

They were caught on the store's surveillance video during the robbery - and the cell phone retrieval. The woman who came in demanding the cell phone reportedly assaulted the store's owner, who tried to trade her phone for the stolen merchandise. But in addition to robbing the place, the suspect threw the owner to the ground and escaped with her device.

Hall and Banks are no longer in custody after posting bail, which was set at $5,000 each. “For sure woulda been easier to just buy the products with the credit card that was in the phone case,” Murrieta Police said on Facebook. The department also confirmed that the suspect had left her phone at the scene of the crime, and it contained her ID, credit cards, and other personal items.

The phone was also worth more than the actual merchandise they stole, which explains why the criminal was so bent on getting it back, even if that meant risking arrest. The store owner suffered minor injuries after being thrown to the ground by one of the suspects, which means an assault charge may be added eventually.

The incident unfolded just after noon on Sept. 19. The event was caught on Premier Nail Supply’s surveillance cameras, and footage was shared with FOX 11 Los Angeles. The Murrieta Police Department posted about the incident its Facebook page.

“Last week, two women walked into a nail supply store just after noon. After they found what they wanted, they proceeded to walk right out the front doors, failing to pay for the now-stolen merchandise."

“Believe it or not, one of the suspects returned just minutes later and told the store employees to return her phone that she had dropped when stealing from the store. #YoureKiddingRight The phone also had her California Driver License and credit card inside the phone case. #YupThatsHer.”

The post then says that the woman had her charge bumped from simple theft to robbery.
