Katie Price accuses ex Dwight Yorke of snide comment after Harvey's birth

Katie Price has taken a major swipe at Dwight Yorke, and claimed the 'last time' she saw her ex was shortly after she'd given birth to their son, Harvey.

The 45-year-old welcomed her first son, Harvey, with the Trinidadian coach and football player in May 2002, following a short-lived romance. It's understood that Katie and Dwight, 51, broke up after she became pregnant at 23 and discovered he had been unfaithful towards her in the relationship.

She has since claimed that the former Premier League player has disowned Harvey, who was born with a rare condition called Prader-Willi syndrome amongst a number of health issues. Today, the 21-year-old, who also has autism and blindness, stays at a residential specialist college called National Star College.

Speaking on the most recent episode of her podcast, Katie slammed Dwight for being late to Harvey's birth and refusing to cut the umbilical cord after he'd been delivered.

"Dwight turned up at the last minute but he didn't want to come in the room or cut the cord so dad did it, he cut the cord," the I'm A Celebrity star revealed. "And anyway I remember Dwight saying 'oh there's a bruise' and I thought 'don't insult me'."

She goes on to reveal that she later discovered the 'bruise' was a "Mongolian blue spot", a type of birthmark, which "fades eventually". Katie also said that this unpleasant exchange marked the "last time I sort of saw Dwight," before adding, "I didn't see him many times after that."

Katie's turbulent relationship with Dwight, who reportedly now lives in Dubai and doesn't see Harvey at all, has been well documented over the years.

In 2021, the reality TV star said that the athlete didn't want anything to do with his son anymore. "I wanted Harvey to have his dad in his life, but he just wasn’t interested in any of it. 'This isn’t about me. This is your son and your flesh and blood,' I said," she wrote in her book, Katie Price: Harvey and Me.

"But he just didn’t give a s**t. There’s only so much you can try before you realise you’re flogging a dead horse. I got up and left and that’s the last time I saw him. I haven’t heard from him since."

In 2009, Dwight told Sky News that his lack of involvement in Harvey's life was the result of "a combination of different things."

"One my time schedule and being based up in Manchester and a footballer on an everyday basis," he said. "Not sitting here and say I’m a total perfect father, I’ve made mistakes along the way and I would love to turn the clock back." He echoed these sentiments in his 2009 autobiography, Born to Score, writing, "From the moment I set eyes on the little fella, I have loved my son like I could never ever have imagined possible."

Dwight also rejected Katie's claims he abandoned their son, insisting, "I am not going to hear any more that I did not care for Harvey, or have any understanding of his needs or that I was not interested in his welfare."
