Take That fans have been left unimpressed over huge ticket prices and crashing websites as the iconic band announced a new UK and Ireland tour in 2024 with special guest Olly Murs.

The news follows the release of Take That’s new track Windows, with the trio revealing they will also be releasing an album titled This Life. Take That – now featuring a line-up of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen – will kick off their show in Sheffield in April before travelling to Leeds, Dublin, London, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Middlesbrough, Nottingham, Norwich, Milton Keynes, Southampton, Plymouth and Swansea.

As some fans tried and failed to get their hands on tickets, they took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to complain. One said: "Totally forgot about the presale on Wednesday & wished I’d forgotten about it today! £100 a ticket to sit in the upper section of the O2!?! Yeah I’d love to go but never want to sit up there again & definitely not for that price & definite. So guess it’s a no from me #TakeThat."

Another wrote: "@takethat #takethattickets 8mins pass and @homeparkstadium is sold out!? How?! And no £66 or £88 tickets were released on pre sale! Wrong and so unfair! Who has all the tickets?! #Plymouth #homepark #takethat, while a third tweeted: "Ticketmaster telling me there’s a connection problem (when there clearly wasn’t) then kicking me out the queue, now got over 5,000 ahead of me #TakeThat." Someone else shared: "Well I’m gutted @takethat how can I be 3rd in the queue and not get 3 tickets I’m so sad thought I was guaranteed tickets being third in queue #takethat."

Meanwhile, announcing the news of the tour, Gary Barlow told BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show: "New music, it is exciting, we’ve been together for 33 years now so it’s like, ‘what’s next, how do we sound in 2023?’.

"There’s nothing more we love than going into a studio and going ‘who are we now, how does our music sound now when it comes out’ and it feels fresh and it feels exciting and it feels like we’re looking upwards.

"We’re at a nice time of life where we’re hopeful and there’s a lot of light in this music and we’re very excited for our audience to hear it, always."

There are some still available, which you can find over at Ticketmaster's website here.
