Brazilian superstar Neymar has hit back at “lies” and “disrespect” following claims that he is attempting to get Al-Hilal boss Jorge Jesus the sack.

The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star only signed for the Saudi club last month. He put pen to paper on a lucrative two-year contract with the side, with the French champions receiving around £86million.

Since then, he has made three appearances in all competitions and provided two assists. That has seen Al-Hilal extend their unbeaten run to nine matches but everything does not appear to be particularly serene for Neymar.

Reports in Spain have claimed that the relationship between him and current manager Jorge Jesus is frosty at best. Neymar was allegedly left frustrated by the Portuguese’s comments about him in the aftermath of a 1-1 draw with Navbahor Namangan in the AFC Champions League.

It is further detailed that the forward wants Jesus jettisoned after he was harshly punished and has made that desire clear to club bosses. However, after coming across those reports on social media, he has taken aim.

Writing on Instagram, the Brazilian said: “Lies... Y'all got to stop believing these things, pages like this... with millions of followers you can't keep posting fake news! With all due respect in the world, I ask you to stop this. This is a lot of disrespect.”

Jesus was only appointed as Al-Hilal boss earlier this summer after replacing Argentine coach Emiliano Diaz. He only has a contract until the end of the current season.

He has overseen nine matches in all competitions since arriving at the club, winning six of those and losing none. Jesus recently launched into an extraordinary rant after the stalemate with Navbahor.

"It was an abnormal game,” he said. “We are prepared to play against closed opponents, but what the other team did today goes against football. They were constant wastes of time, which made my players lose focus.

"The game was difficult, if you can call it a game, because the team we faced was repeatedly wasting time and breaking the rhythm, and I'm not used to playing against this type of team.

"I've been a coach for 35 years and I've never seen anything like this, a team wasting time like Navbahor. They didn't come in to play football. All they did was anti-play, successive fouls and wasting time and the referee didn't control the situation. Our draw, it didn't come from their defensive discipline, but from something far removed from football."

Al-Hilal are next back in action this Friday against Al-Shabab as they aim to claim top spot in the Saudi Pro League.
