Corrie 'confirms' identity of Eliza's hit-and-run driver - and it's not Dom

Coronation Street spoilers have revealed who ran over Eliza it seems, as new information comes to light.

According to new teasers the car used in the crime is located, and the owner is found - and it seems it wasn't her father Dom behind the wheel. Eliza was accidentally hit on the side by a car that was speeding past her as she went to cross the road. Her grandfather Stu Carpenter raced her to hospital and nothing was said about the driver.

It now seems it was investigated by the police as next week, they have questions for one unexpected resident. Tyrone Dobbs is stunned when the police come knocking and tell him they have reason to believe his car was involved in a hit and run recently. They ask to examine the car, while it's not said whether the car is confirmed to be the one used in the crime.

That said, Tyrone soon tells people his car was used in a hit and run so it seems it was the vehicle that hit Eliza. Tyrone is innocent though, and he soon questions his mother Cassie Plummer about her whereabouts at the time the incident happened.

Cassie denies that she had anything to do with the hit and run, but it is clear that her mother Evelyn doesn’t believe her and thinks she might be the culprit. Feeling accused and possibly hiding her guilt, Cassie storms off and gets drunk only to be found by Kevin Webster. She refuses to go home so he offers her the couch at his house.

But does this mean Cassie did cause the crime, or did she perhaps give someone else Tyrone's car? It would certainly seem Cassie was involved in the crime, but whether she will face punishment remains to be seen. It comes as viewers had speculated her father Dom was the real culprit, after he was late meeting her and has since used her to get to her grandfather Stu.

Taking to social media, one viewer said: "Who thinks her dad was driving the car that knocked her down and then drove off in Corrie?" Several viewers agreed with this theory with one replying: "yep thought of that straight away," as another said: "I was thinking the same."
