Emmerdale star teases car crash horror with huge twist fans 'will not expect'

star Ash Palmisciano has teased huge scenes on the ITV soap regarding a devastating car crash, that will impact the village in the coming months.

The Matty Barton star confirmed the dramatic stunt would involve Mackenzie Boyd and Chloe Harris, as well as other fan favourites being caught up in the storyline. Ash exclusively told The Mirror details about the big stunt and the fallout to the scenes, teasing there was much more to come - and that some discoveries could be made.

He told us: "There's a big accident in the village with Mackenzie and Chloe, there's a big car crash. It's not as straight forward as you think, there's hidden things that have gone on. There's things that happen after the accident which does unfortunately impact Matty and Amy's relationship, but I can confirm they are very strong and they come together."

On what's ahead, he went on: "It's gonna impact the village hugely and I'm not just saying this, we've got Christmas on the way and we're starting to film that now. Something happens after the crash that you will never expect, a character who is potentially not involved at the moment gets involved and so much stuff happens, there's some fan favourites involved in this story and at Christmas it's gonna be big."

Nigel Harman ‘trying not to worry’ about topping Strictly leaderboard again

Nigel Harman said that he is “trying not to worry” about topping the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard next week after he and dance partner Katya Jones received top points during the series’ first episode.

The 21st series of the show returned to screens on Saturday and Harman, 50, and Jones placed first with 32 points from the judges.

Harman spoke about his Strictly dance at the Inside Soap Awards, where he won an award for best drama star in his role as Dr Max Christie in Casualty.

Speaking to the PA news agency about whether he is worried if he will be able to top the leaderboard again next week, the actor said: “I’m trying not to worry about it. I’m just trying to go that’s okay, that’s happened and now we’ve got a new dance.

“But inevitably people will be going. ‘Well, okay you’re supposed to be really good at this’.

“So that makes me a bit nervous but I’m not gonna worry about it. I can only turn up. Something good will happen on Saturday or something not good will happen on Saturday.”

Corrie's Ted Boyce on serial killer Stephen's murder thrills

As far as serial killers go, Audrey Roberts' son Stephen is certainly not your usual run-of-the-mill murderer, with his decent into homicidal madness almost having a comical tinge to it. But how would the actor playing Stephen define his own character? Is he a psychopath? Or simply someone who enjoys a bit of a murder high every now and again?

"He's got a short fuse, hasn't he?" Ted Boyce, who plays Stephen, tells the Mirror on the Inside Soap Awards red carpet. "I think it all started - what we didn't see is how his life fell apart. He was very, very successful and really had lots of money and he just came back to Weatherfield pretending he was coming back to look after Audrey but he came back penniless and in a lot of debt. So he already arrived with a raw nerve, so he was already on this rollercoaster ride and we just see him arrive and try to pretend it's all good. So I think his nerves are pretty frayed when we first saw him come back. So by now it's like, how could any human being endure what he's been through here?

"Leo, his first murder, genuinely came as a complete surprise to him, he didn't mean that to happen and they he was OK that it did happen because it got him out of a tight spot. And then Teddy, the dad - I think he just had this secret that got found out and he thought, 'I've got to keep going!' And then I think with Rufus, it was actually because Rufus had bribed him and blackmailed him and he just thought, 'Listen, you're going down.' So I think maybe he got a bit of a taste for it? "

Danielle Harold leads red carpet glamour

EastEnders actress Danielle Harold has led the stylish outfit choices as TV stars attended the Inside Soap Awards tonight.

The actress, who scored big on the night with both the Best Actress award and the Best Storyline award, looked chic in her all white ensemble featuring a matching white trouser suit with sultry bralette underneath. The blonde star kept her long hair in loose Hollywood waves as she opted for old school glamour with her makeup featuring dark eyes and a red lip.

She wasn't the only one rocking a stylish outfit for the award ceremony, with stars from Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks turning out to celebrate their storylines, cast and all things soap. See pictures of all the soap stars at the event HERE.

Soap stars pose with awards

After receiving the awards, soap stars took to the red carpet to pose with their accolades. Nigel Harman, who is best known for his role as Dennis Rickman in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, smiled as he held up his Best Drama Star award. He was nominated with Casualty's Charles Venn and Waterloo Road stars Adam Thomas and Kym Marsh.

Danielle Harold, who plays Lola Pearce-Brown in EastEnders, held up her Best Actress award and Best Storyline award for the cameras to see. For Best Actress, she was up against Corrie's Charlotte Jordan, Emmerdale's Claire King and Hollyoaks' Nikki Sanderson.

Tina O'Brien and Lucy Fallon stun on the red carpet

Tina O'Brien, who is best known for her portrayal of Sarah Platt in the long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street, looked stunning as she posed on the red carpet. The actress, 40, rocked a light pink sleeveless dress with dramatic detailing. She placed one hand on her hips as she smiled for the camera.

Lucy Fallon, who portrays Bethany Platt in Corrie, donned a similar dress in red and completed the look with a red lipstick and dramatic eye makeup.

Best Showstopper Award

Coronation Street won the Best Showstopper award for its incredible acid attack story. The powerful storyline had great performances from Ryan Prescott (Ryan Connor) and Charlotte Jordan (Daisy Midgeley).

Ryan became a victim of Justin's horror acid attack on Daisy Midgeley after the stalker cruelly targeted the bride. The terrifying scenes saw Justin target Daisy on her wedding day only for Ryan to spot the unhinged character's attempt to hurt the bride and jump in front of her to protect Daisy.

He was hit with the liquid and immediately screamed as the acid hit his face and burned his skin.

Coronation Street victories

EastEnders may be the big winners this evening but ITV rivals Coronation Street have still managed to scoop a few awards.

Dame Maureen Lipman was awarded best comic performance, which was previously announced, for her role as Evelyn Plummer on the ITV soap; and Todd Boyce was named best villain for his portrayal of Stephen Reid – the soap’s serial killer.

Best newcomer was awarded to Coronation Street’s Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays solicitor Dee-Dee Bailey and the best showstopper, for a showcase stunt or episode, was awarded for the acid attack story. An instalment of the soap saw Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still) attempt to throw acid on Daisy Midgeley – who has been the victim of stalking in a long-running storyline.
