Starfield is a game that will take you forever to beat thanks to how many side missions are in the game, but how many main quests are there?

Starfield is a game about exploring the stars and is arguably best experienced at your own pace (much like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom). However, you can't have a big Bethesda RPG without the main story to pull you through. Starfield's main quest will take you all over the universe as a part of Constellation as you seek to find out the secret behind the mysterious Artifacts. While things start simple, your quest becomes increasingly complex as Starborn beings like the Emissary and the Hunter become involved in your work.

Starfield has 19 main quests in total, which doesn't sound like much but considering some of these missions take you to a number of different planets and star systems across your adventure, it actually ends up being somewhere within the 20 to 30-hour range to mainline the story.

Not that we can tell you how to play the game, but we'd recommend taking your time with Starfield's main quests. As past Bethesda RPG's have proven, a lot of the best content in its games are usually those that take you off the main path. But if you want to mainline things and get to Starfield's New Game Plus quicker, then those are the 19 missions you want to complete in order.
