Rapper Krayzie Bone 'fighting for his life' in hospital after coughing up blood

Krayzie Bone has been rushed to hospital and placed on a breathing machine as he is "fighting for his life" after coughing up blood.

The 50-year-old rapper, whose real name is Anthony Henderson, was forced to seek medical attention on Friday after the terrifying incident. He suffers from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease in which the immune system overreacts. This causes groups of cells to form clusters of inflamed tissue in one or more organs of the body.

Krayzie Bone, who is part of the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony group, underwent a CT scan which revealed an artery was leaking inside one of his lungs. A source has said he underwent "immediate surgery", but that failed to stop the bleeding.

Speaking to AllHipHop, the source said Krayzie Bone is currently sedated. They also said that he quit smoking a few months ago amid his health troubles.

His Bone Thugs-n-Harmony bandmate Bizzy Bone took to his Instagram Story to urge fans to keep his friend in their thoughts. He wrote: "Pray 4 Kray." In a second post, he added: "Can't sleep. Sometimes you just gotta pray."

Fans have been sharing their well wishes on social media, with one person writing: "Bruh they're saying Krayzie Bone is in the hospital fighting for his life. Terrible news. Praying for him and his fam." Another said: "Thoughts and prayers for Krayzie Bone and his family. I hope he pulls through this and heals up!"

"Love to Krayzie Bone-- Bone Thugs really were innovators and Kray was a force in that group. Sending prayers for a pull through!" a third fan added. NBA star LeBron James also shared a series of prayer hand emojis alongside a picture of Krayzie Bone.

Krayzie Bone is well-known for his work with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and he has won two Grammy Awards in his career. Just last month, he told AllHipHop that he feels "blessed" to have been involved in the Hip-Hop industry.

"To be here at the beginning, to watch and see every phase that it's went through, I'm excited to see what the next 50 years is going to bring. Hip-Hop is definitely here to stay as a music genre, but it's still so young," he said.
