Kelsey Parker has opened up on her surprising role in the Harry Potter film series, as she plans a return to acting.

The mum-of-two, 33, who sadly lost her husband Tom Parker in March 2022. The Wanted singer died aged 33, 18 months after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Following his death, Kelsey has shared insights into her family life and has written a book where she reflects on the past few months.

Kelsey, who is a trained actress and runs a performing arts school, shared she was once a student at the acclaimed Italia Conti academy of performing arts in London. Through her acting, she was able to land roles in EastEnders and Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban. She confessed: "I would love to get back into acting. For me, I wanted to start a family and be there for Tom more, so it took a backseat."

When starring in Harry Potter, Kelsey played the role of a Hufflepuff student. She told OK!: "The Harry Potter film is one that definitely resonates with the kids. They’ll say to their mates, ‘My mum was in Harry Potter.’" Her two children that she shared with her late husband Tom - Aurelia, four, and two-year-old Bodhi - also have a love of performing arts.

Tom married Kelsey Hardwick in 2018, after meeting the trained actress in a nightclub in 2009. Following his death, Kelsey found love with new boyfriend Sean and admitted she was surprised anything developed with him as she wasn't expecting it. The star also opened up about how Auriela and Bodhi react to him being around their house - which is "full of Tom."

Speaking to the Mirror, she said: "He comes to my house and it’s full of Tom, he’s so present and the kids talk about him all the time. But Sean doesn’t shy away from that. After the kids met him, Aurelia said, ‘Daddy died of a brain tumour’ and he just replied, ‘I know, darling. We all miss your Daddy’. He’s another reassuring person for them, he’s a massive support.”

Kelsey and Sean began dating after meeting at a wedding in Greece. Five months later, in March, Kelsey’s romance with Sean was over. But their relationship was rekindled at another mutual friend’s wedding in Greenwich, South London, and they are now closer than ever.

Chatting on The Secret To podcast, on an episode titled The Secret To Dealing with Grief, Kelsey told Vicky Pattison all about how they are dealing with Tom's death. Earlier this year, she organised the Tom Parker Celebrity Football Match to raise money for the Ahead of the Game Foundation, set up in his memory and has discussed what helps them cope. "The one bit of advice I can give is just be honest," she told the reality star.

"I just think that’s everything that you talk to your children about. I think honesty is the best policy. I just was really matter of fact and I said, “Your dad has died. He’s not coming back. And he’s now going to be with the angels and we’ve just got to get on with life.”’ She went on: "Even at the weekend, Aurelia was saying to me, we were at a party. She likes to tell people, which I’m fine with. You tell everyone. She does it as a bit of a mic drop, like 'My dad’s dead' - and everyone’s like…...". Vicky then said to her guest: "So sorry mate, but kids are so savage, aren’t they!’"

Despite chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions, Tom died from incurable stage 4 cancer, with Kelsey at his side last year. Glioblastoma, the most lethal of all cancers for people under 40, has a typical life expectancy of three to six months.
