Russell Brand offered man's prostitute girlfriend £50 for sex 'making him cry'

Russell Brand made a heroin addict weep by offering £50 to have sex with his prostitute girlfriend.

The incident happened as the disgraced comic, then a heroin addict himself, made a TV documentary. Brand later said the man’s tears made him feel terrible. The film never made it to air when a producer intervened.

In the ill-advised project, Brand spent a week living with a drug-addict couple and their toddler daughter in Norwich before asking for sex with the woman. Brand’s former writing partner Matt Morgan claimed he had been left to look after the child when everyone else in the house was high on drugs.

In a podcast, Morgan talked about the RE:Brand series for defunct Play UK. He said: “The guy who ran the production company watched it and said, ‘This can’t go out, they’ll lose custody of their child’.” The show was to explore “whether anyone would sleep with prostitutes if they weren’t able to dehumanise them”. In his memoir My Booky Wook, Brand said the woman had been “pimped out” and the man’s tears made him feel awful.

Morgan last week said he stopped working for Brand years ago, adding: “I was never aware of any allegations of serious sexual misconduct.” Brand denies a rape claim and four sexual assault allegations. He said sexual relations were consensual.
