Ho ho holy moly, it’s almost Christmas! Even though we’re still excited for Halloween and Bonfire night before the big day, beauty advent calendars are already dropping left, right and centre - and we love it. From Look Fantastic to Liberty, Cult Beauty to Boots, one that we’re always excited to see is obviously from our high street favourite, Marks & Spencer.

Announced earlier this month, the bestselling beauty advent calendar will be available to buy in stores and online from the 26th October, and we’ve been told by our M&S Elves that this year’s is going to be bigger, and better than ever before - containing a whopping £340 worth of gorgeous goodies.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the incredible M&S Beauty Advent Calendar for just £45, when you spend £35 on clothing, home and beauty both online and in your local M&S too. So if we do the #GirlMath for you, that’s basically free once you’ve brought all your Christmas presents for the parents, in-laws, grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings and the rest! Or, you know, just some underwear, shoes, handbag and party dress for the sparkle season ahead.

Now how would you like to see, and know if it’s really worth that ahead of time? Because our Beauty Editor Sarah has had a peek inside the glorious contents, and even picked out five of her very own favourites that she thinks is worth it alone - not to mention that all 25 boxes are housed in the most beautiful, vegan leather vanity case, that you can use over and over again!

“When I tell you how excited and thrilled I was to see a beauty brand think outside the box this year with a sustainable beauty advent calendar concept… Naturally M&S were always going to be the ones to nail it, right? I mean not only is the vegan leather case practical, it’s so big too! I mean I’m either going to keep it for myself or give it to someone in my family this year - filled with some beauty treats.

“For just £40, after spending £35 in store and online, I can put my hand on my heart and say that the beauty advent calendar is really worth it. Aside from the vanity case, it has some big name brands included like PIXI, Benefit, Murad, This Works, NUXE and REN to name a few - plus the L’Occitane, Shay & Blue and Philip Kingsley.

“You’ll literally find everything you need, to keep you looking your best - from head to toe! We’re talking hair masks, shampoo and conditioner, mascara, lipstick, hand creams, facial moisturisers and face masks galore!

“I personally love a beauty advent calendar for having handy travel sized products for when I’m on the go, staying back at my parents house over the holidays or weekends away - but they are also really good for giving something a go I’ve never wanted to purchase full price. I also really love giving the miniatures away as stocking fillers to my cousin’s too - so they can also try something new out!

“As for my person five favourites? Well I have to start with the This Works Deep Sleep Body Cocoon. Usually priced at £25 for the 100ml (which you get inside the calendar), I cannot tell you how much this has saved me during sleepless nights. The smell literally lulls you into the most calming state and the smell? Divine.

“Next up is a no brainer, the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara (priced at £25.50 for the full size, also included). As we all know, I’m obsessed with testing out a new mascara, but I always come back to this one as I just love how it not only pushes mine up, but separates evenly without clumping.

“Third is going to M&S’s own brand, apothecary. The ‘Meditate’ edition is fragranced with Black Pepper, Mandarin, Cypress and Cedar Wood - it smells unbelievable and almost Le Labo-esque! If you’re anything like me, you too will suffer with dry hands over the colder months - but with this cream being the handy 30ml, it’s the handbag essential I won’t be leaving the house without.

“Measuring a teenie, tiny 10ml, I have to give a special mention to the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse. If you’re obsessed with French Pharmacies like I am, this needs no introduction. But if you’re not aware of NUXE products, get to know as this miniature oil is perfect for your hair, face and body - not to mention legs for party season too.

“And finally, I’m going to give my fifth and final shout out to Murad’s Essential-C Day Moisture Broad Spectrum SPF30. As we might not all be aware, we should be wearing SPF daily and this one from Murad has the added benefits of Vitamin C, which is a skin-loving ingredient when it comes to brightening - and even improves firmness in as little as 4 weeks.”
