Good Morning Football co-host Kyle Brandt has jokingly theorised that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is not human and is instead an artificial intelligence experiment.

Purdy, 23, is in the regular season 8-0 as a starting NFL quarterback and has still yet to throw an interception three games into the new season after another flawless night on Thursday. The interception-less run stretches back seven games in total and includes the entirety of the 2022 postseason.

Against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, the quarterback threw for a season-high 310 yards and two touchdowns. After playing a game more than the rest of the league, he leads the NFL in passing with 736 yards.

Such sustained success has given Brandt the idea that all may not be as it seems. The GMF personality has now shared his theories on air.

"I'm working on a Brock Purdy theory," Brandt said on the show. "I think he's AI. I don't know if he's real.

"I think there is a conspiracy that will certainly come out years from now that they wanted the first artificial intelligence player. 'Just have him be drafted last [Purdy was Mr Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft]. No one will notice; it won't become a thing.'

"I don't know if he's a human being. I think he might be a Terminator." He added: "They're like: 'We need to start introducing artificial intelligence into the game. Let's do it silently and quietly.'

"I don't think he bleeds. I don't think he sweats. I'm not sure he blinks. If you watch him, he's one of those people from Westworld. Like a fly lands on his eyeball, he won't even blink."

GMF host Jamie Erdahl then asked Brandt to explain Purdy's Week 1 fumble against the Pittsburgh Steelers. "He actually did fumble the ball, but then he landed on it and retained the possession," she recalled.

"Part of his programming is to appear human," Brandt replied. "The terminators are covered with human flesh to give them their appearance. So he fumbled it, and he recovered it. That's all in the programming. I am telling you, this guy is AI. I promise. He's not a real human being.

"He looks like a computer has made the face of a young caucasian gentleman with side-parted hair. They are what the computers think people look like. It's not real. That didn't come from God; it was the machines.

Brandt continued: "They're calling him 'bot' Purdy because it's not Brock, it's 'bot'. He is a robot, I promise you. If he rips his skin off, something's going to happen. It's going to be wiring."

The GMF co-host also posited that he got built underneath the cornfields in the US state of Iowa. That is where Purdy spent four years playing college football at Iowa State University for the Cyclones before being drafted.
