A missing two-year-old girl was found in the woods yesterday using one of her two canine companions as a pillow.

Thea was found about three miles away from her home in Michigan's upper peninsula around Midnight yesterday by a citizen on an ATV, according to police. Medical staff determined that she sustained no injuries.

She was sleeping on her family Rottweiler named Buddy, while the other dog kept watch. It is unclear whether Thea went missing with the dogs.

While the young child was certainly in dangerous situation, police noted how wholesome the site had been. Especially because the animals were her family dogs.

Thea's mother, Brooke, shared her gratitude on Facebook. She wrote: 'It was the nightmare I never wanted to live through. I'm so glad my baby girl is safely home with us tonight. Her doggies kept her safe. I'm still in shock.'

The toddler's disappearance prompted 50 local Michigan and Wisconsin authorities, along with citizens of both states, to scour the remote wooded Faithorn area for the girl. Troopers utilized police dogs and arial drones, according to The Guardian.

Brooke said she was especially worried because their home is surrounded by miles of vast wilderness. She said: 'Everywhere around here is completely wooded, deep thick woods around here and there's a swamp over there so of course we're freaking out."

Thea had wandered away at about 8.pm Wednesday, which prompted a call to troopers from Michigan state police’s Iron Mountain post. Beforehand, Brooke spent 15 minutes frantically calling her daughter's, and dogs, name in her backyard.

"After 15 minutes of searching for her with our friends and family, I called the cops because at that point I'm just, I don't know what else to do besides call the cops," she said.

She also called her husband Alex from work who raced home to join the search, making it to the home before police. That's when a nearly 50-man search ensued

She said: "We were searching all around the yard, up and down the road, screaming at the top of our lungs calling her name. We were calling for the dogs because they were missing too."

Brooke said Thea often uses the dogs as a pillow. However, she was still shocked to see the pooches take such good care of her daughter and how fast the toddler slipped away.

"I am still in just shock. I was in shock that she was literally gone in like a split second."
