A truly stomach-churning ride that drops passengers into a canyon from 1,100ft has been described as 'worse than any rollercoaster'.

Breath-taking new footage shows a man being swung from underneath the Aizhai suspension bridge in China as bystanders look on in amazement. In the clip, which was shared on Instagram, the person sits in a swing-like seat as a sliding metal door opens up beneath him, revealing the mammoth drop to the terrain and motorway below. He is then slowly lowered down until he is level a set of wires, where he agonisingly hangs in the balance as he waits for the ride to finally begin.

Suddenly, the man is then dropped and swung along the wires, hurtling him forwards and backwards through the air. It reportedly costs around £150 for the experience - but many commenters have suggested they wouldn't do the same even if you paid them. One wrote: "Doesn't look very secure. Dead drop at risk. No thank you, I will pass", while someone else said: "I’m nervous just watching." Another reluctant viewer said: "There is no money in the world that could get me on that", and a different person commented: "This is scarier than any coaster".

The video has also appeared on TikTok, where a few more people seemed to be drawn to the adrenaline rush. One wrote "I'd love to try this. On the bucket list it goes!", and another enthusiastic user said: "Where is this, it looks amazing." Footage shared elsewhere on the social media platform also showed people doing bungee jumps from the same spot, while the bridge above allows both pedestrians and motor traffic to cross while taking in the spectacular view.

The Aizhai Bridge in Hunan Province, China connects two mountains above the Dehang Canyon and is the world's highest and longest tunnel-to-tunnel bridge. When it was first opened in 2012, it was reported that the bridge was so tall that a car falling off the side would take eight seconds to hit the ground.
