Controversial former Commons Speaker John Bercow will star in the next series of the Traitors USA alongside reality TV stars and celebrities.

The former MP, who was banned from holding a parliamentary pass after he was found to be a serial bully, will feature alongside Love Island winner Ekin-Su. He will also feature alongside other celebs from Big Brother, Dancing with the Stars and RuPaul's Drag Race. Among other contestants (see the full list below) is basketball player Marcus Jordan, the son of basketball legend Michael Jordan.

The Traitors show is set in a remote castle in the Scottish Highlands. The majority of players are known as the "Faithful" but some are "Traitors" – a group of contestants selected by the host, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithfuls and claim the prize of up to $250,000 for themselves.

It is hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming, who is set to introduce his dog Lala this season as his sidekick. A premiere date for Season 2 has yet to be revealed, though Peacock TV network says the series will return “early next year.”

Mr Bercow cried “Order! Order!” for the last time in 2019 when he quit as Commons Speaker after a decade. Last year he was found to have been a a "serial bully" and a "serial liar" who "repeatedly and extensively" bullied House of Commons staff, according to an investigation.

The ex-Speaker was accused of throwing a mobile phone, swearing at officials and making a sexually and racially discriminatory remark at a member of staff. A scathing 89 page report published by the Independent Expert Panel into Mr Bercow's conduct described his behaviour as an "abuse of power" and concluded his behaviour had "no place in any workplace."

At the time, Mr Bercow said: "All I can say is that the case against me would have been thrown out by any court in the land since it is based on the flimsiest of evidence, rooted in hearsay and baseless rumour, and advanced by old school dogmatists once intent on resisting change at all costs and now settling some ancient scores with me. It is a travesty of justice and brings shame on the House of Commons."
