Life 'changed forever' after health battle

A retired nurse and mum-of-two from Chorley in Lancashire has had a ‘life-changing’ win of £400,000 after entering the postcode lottery. Brenda McMullan, 72, had a stroke in March - while recovering from a devastating injury that left her back broken in seven places back in 2017, which required her to wear a special cage device to help gain back her mobility.

The Grandmother was sleeping in her husband, Denis’s ‘man cave,’ while learning to walk again when her luck changed. Once she gets an 'all-clear' from the hospital, her and her husband are looking to go away on holiday for a nice trip.

Forgotten luck

A man who couldn’t remember his original numbers chose a completely different set, and then won £7.6 million. Eric, who runs a car repair business with his wife, Sue, vows to stay running his business despite the massive win.

The couple has been married for nearly 30 years, and have stayed consistent by choosing the same six numbers for the lottery every single week. But when Eric went to enter the draw for a Saturday rollover, he couldn’t recall the combination but took a chance and bought a lucky dip instead. The couple haven’t had a holiday since 1984 and are in talks of going away or purchasing a motorhome for a well-deserved break.

Cracked the code

An economist named was living in Romania during a period of extreme poverty and food shortages. Realising he was strapped for cash, he decided to come up with a way to get money quickly.

As he was good with numbers, he decided to take advantage of the lottery by coming up with a calculation that would help him work out the . Mandel chose five numbers between 1 and 40 and then played a guessing game to find out the last one. To his surprise, he won the top prize after entering with friends, which allowed him to bag a huge sum of money equating to a staggering 18x more than his salary. After his wins, he settled with his young family who enjoyed the winnings alongside him.

Squeaky clean

Dion Davies, 47, purchased a EuroMillions ticket whilst performing in a production of sleeping beauty - when he become overcome with joy after unearthing the ticket whilst cleaning his car. Davies brought it to a shop nearby and was told he had to call the national lottery operators, 'Camelot,' as it was revealed he was a lucky winner.

He managed to match all five numbers thanks to a combination of his family's birthdays and also having a lucky star in the draw which took place last December. Davies and wife are now currently planning a trip to Italy with their teenage son.
