Football Manager 2024 will be the 20th entry in the iconic series and it will contain a feature that's never been included before.

Sega and Sports Interactive have confirmed that Football Manager 2024 (including FM24 Console for Xbox and PlayStation, FM24 Touch for Nintendo Switch, and FM24 Mobile) will be launching globally on November 6, 2023 but is available to pre-order now. Football Manager 2024 is the 20th edition of the franchise and this year the game is launching in Japan for the first time in the series' history.

The new release has been referred to as the most complete edition of Football Manager to date and the upcoming title has been boosted by securing a J.League agreement that sees the Japanese clubs finally included. The new licensing agreement introduces Meiji Yasuda Insurance Ltd J.1 League, J.2 League and J.3 Leagues and fully unlocks Japan as a playable nation in-game.

All 60 J.League clubs are fully licensed featuring their official logos, kits and player photos from the 2023 J.League season will now be included. Sports Interactive Studio Director Miles Jacobson said: “Signing an agreement with the J.League is something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time and being able to combine that with our first launch in Japan is an enormous milestone for the studio and wider SEGA family.

“For years and years, we’ve faced the ‘where is the J.League?’ question from our fans so I’m thrilled that we’ve been able to finally make it happen and am excited for our players to get to know the league and clubs better and discover new talents from Japan. For our new fans and players in Japan, it’s so pleasing that they’ll get to experience one of the true joys of FM – managing your favourite team and living out your footballing dreams.”

The J.League has grown in popularity in recent seasons with such players such as David Villa, Andres Iniesta, Fernando Torres and Lukas Podolski all making the journey from Europe to Japan to play in the league. FM24 has also promised a series of gameplay upgrades that help further the authenticity of the manager experience.

Miles Jacobsen said that there would be thorough improvements to the game for its newest edition. He added: “You can expect a host of improvements, big and small, both in new features and revamps to existing areas of the game. This is all thanks to ideas and feedback from within the studio, the world of football and contributions from our feature request forum."

The new game is being priced at £44.99 and You can pre-order Football Manager 24 here.
