Conor Benn's boxing return will take place this Saturday night after the Brit was cleared to fight in Orlando following two failed drug tests last year.

The 26-year-old was due to face Chris Eubank Jr in a massive continuation of the pair's famous family feud last October, but the bout was pulled when two test returned adverse findings for clomifene. But after being cleared by UK Anti-Doping, promoter Eddie Hearn has quickly turned him around for a bout in America this weekend.

Benn will face Mexican Rodolfo ‘Sinaloita’ Orozco at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida as the co-main event to Richardson Hitchins showdown with Jose Zepeda. The bout takes place at super-welterweight, with the Brit still in talks for a 160lb fight against Eubank Jr once he is reinstated with a licence to fight in the UK.

“I am undefeated in the ring, and in spirit," Benn said in a press release today announcing the fight. "A return on Saturday is a step closer to redemption. After that, I’m putting the 147-160 divisions on notice. You are looking at a determined man with a deep desire to beat them all."

"Conor Benn is back and I’m looking forward to seeing him pick up where he left off," Hearn added. "He’s ready to go straight in for a big fight now but his trainer Tony Sims will be pleased to get him back sooner against a game opponent in Rodolfo Orozco. Conor is looking unbelievable in the gym and I cannot wait to see him back in the ring where he belongs on what is a fantastic fight card in Florida.”

Benn is undefeated as a boxer, but has been out of action since April of last year when he knocked out Chris van Heerden at the AO Arena in Manchester. He was on track to begin moving towards world honours when he took the fight with Eubank Jr, which was due to take place at a controversial 157lb catchweight.

But the fight was scrapped when he returned a positive test for clomifene; a fertility drug which is known to elevate testosterone levels in men in tests of his urine. But he continued to maintain his innocence and is now keen to reignite his boxing career, starting in Orlando this weekend.
