Janey Godley has posted an emotional video to discuss her terminal cancer journey, revealing the reassuring news that she got a 'clear scan' on Tuesday.

The Scottish comedian took to Instagram yesterday to share the positive update, which comes nearly two years after she was first diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. The 62-year-old announced in June 2022 that she'd gone into remission after undergoing hysterectomy the previous January, only for the life-changing disease to return last December.

Janey explained that the cancer had been detected in her abdomen, requiring her to seek chemotherapy treatment once again.

Her latest scan has delivered uplifting results, however, much to the relief of the beloved voice-over artist.

"I just got the news that the scan is clear," she revealed, before adding that the news has given her, "Another three months." She goes on to thank her followers' for their kind messages throughout this difficult period, hailing their ongoing support as "overwhelming."

"This is how I'm going to live my life, in three month increments," Janey continues, before removing her glasses to wipe tears from her eyes. "Wow. Another clear scan - yes, yes," she cheers, crossing her fingers for good luck.

Janey shared further details of her cancer journey in the caption, explaining how she plans to move forward and expressing gratitude to her healthcare providers for their treatment.

"I will never have the all clear, like millions of people I am living with a life limiting disease but I am receiving treatment and today I got a clear scan - I get scans every three months -thanks @Beatson_Charity and Scottish NHS and thanks to everyone," she said.

Janey, who completed her 27-date tour, Not Dead Yet, in March, has taken to social media on multiple occasions to keep her fans notified on her journey with cancer.

"It's frightening...and I f**king cry a lot," she told her Instagram followers earlier this month. "But I'm not dead today." Elsewhere in the video update, she made a humorous quip about her 'do, joking, "I spent 45 years styling my hair...And as soon as I get cancer and chemo, it grew in like this."

Janey has received an outpouring of positive comments from fans since announcing her diagnosis, many of whom have responded by sharing their own experiences with the disease.

"Thank you for being so open and honest with your journey. It means so much to everyone that you do this and we wish you all the very best along the way. You're a remarkable woman, truly," one person wrote.

"I feel this 100%!!" another said. "My scans are in two weeks. Treatment ended last summer. My hair is crazy, too!!! It came back curly and I wake up looking like I stuck my finger in an electrical outlet! Hang in there!!!"
