Laura Woods left TNT Sports colleague Ally McCoist in fits of laughter with a crass on-air joke on her Champions League debut.

The former talkSPORT presenter was part of the team taking viewers through Manchester City's 3-1 win over Serbian champions Crvena Zvezda at the Etihad Stadium - Pep Guardiola 's side getting the defence of their title off to the best possible start. Following the match, Woods turned to McCoist to analyse Julian Alvarez 's first goal that had got the reigning European champions back on level terms.

However, it appeared she was more interested in his choice of snacks. She pointed to an empty packet of Haribo Starmix just behind the Rangers icon in the shot whilst he was still up on the gantry.

However, he disputed that they belonged to him and instead suggested that they were the property of commentator Darren Fletcher. Then, McCoist followed up by suggesting that if the camera were to pan slightly to his side then viewers would be able to see the remnants of a banana and nuts that he'd polished off as his mid-game snack.

That left Woods with a great opportunity to slot in a cheeky joke as she said: "It would be a dangerous camera angle if that's what we were seeing."

That response left McCoist in fits of laughter as he turned bright red and struggled to regain his composure whilst live on air. Her joke wasn't the only funny moment for Woods as she made her debut in the Champions League for TNT.

She was also left red-faced by former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand pre-match. The duo were taking a walk across the pitch alongside ex-Manchester City man Joleon Lescott.

With one of the warm-up balls finding its way to Ferdinand, he cheekily nutmegged Woods, who attempted to jokingly kick-out at and slap the former Champions League winner in response..

Speaking about the incident, Ferdinand said: "How dare you? How dare you try and get away with it? Don't even try and go to anything. There has been a nutmeg live on air on her debut. On Laura Woods' debut. Just popped it through quickly, beautiful."

"I think that was better, the back slap," Woods responded. "That was better I think. Pep Guardiola hoping for a bit of skill like that hopefully today. Very embarrassed, thanks for that."

Luckily there was no more embarrassment for the 36-year-old, whose debut went by without any further hitches.
