Corrie's Step Davis cringes over father in law's awkward reaction to soap scenes

Coronation Street star Stephanie Davis was left cringing by her relative's reaction to her steamy soap scenes.

The actress has joined the ITV soap as Courtney Vance, who has got herself involved in a relationship with Dev's son Aadi. Courtney was married to husband Darren Vance, but things have been rocky for them after she started pursuing Aadi.

Courtney's desire for Aadi is very clear, and the pair have enjoyed some steamy scenes since she arrived on the Cobbles. However, Stephanie was left cringing when she tuned into the soap with her partner Joe and his family.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she said: "She does go for it. I was watching it with Joe and his family and I was literally just hiding behind a pillow. I was like, 'Why have I done this?' I literally just wanted the ground to swallow me up. And his dad was like, 'Ah bloody hell!' But yeah, the scenes were very intense and she does really care about Aadi. She's not a total b***h."

Stephanie says that the cracks will start to form with Aadi and Courtney, but she is ultimately hopeful they can work through it.

She added: "She really is fond of him but the cracks do start to show because she's been so accustomed to her like with Darren, living the high life... But she is fond of him and the more it goes on, they have got this really lovely, genuine little relationship together.

"I think they're about marmite sometimes. This is when the cracks start to show after she's seen the flat but I was saying to Adam [who plays Aadi] in these scenes, 'I just feel really bad for you' because god help Aadi, he will just do anything for Courtney. If she says the sky is purple, the sky is purple and he falls for her hook line and sinker every time, for every little excuse."

This week, we will see Courtney put pressure on Aadi to find them somewhere to live away from the family home. He promises to help and find them somewhere, and considers Shelly's old flat for somewhere to live.
