Congresswoman Lauren Boebert weighed in on the issue of a missing F-35 fighter jet by branding military leaders as too focused on "woke ideology."

"The military is asking for the public’s help in finding an F-35 jet that went missing," she complained on Twitter after the jet went missing. "We’re talking about an $80,000,000 jet."

She added: "This is what happens when military leaders are more focused on woke ideology than actually running a competent military."

The military is currently searching for a jet believed to have crashed after a pilot parachuted to safety into a North Charleston neighborhood yesterday. The public has been asked for help in searching for the jet, as authorities said they were searching near two South Carolina lakes following a "mishap."

Her recent outburst garnered her further criticism from some as she has face pressure this week over her behaviour in a theatre in Denver. She was thrown out after she fondled her new flame - he did the same in return - and was then caught vaping, dancing and putting her hands in the air during a performance of Beetlejuice.

In footage from the theatre, Boebert can be seen flipping off staff as she leaves. A pregnant woman sitting behind her in the theatre who asked her to stop smoking was reportedly called “a sad and miserable person.”

During the confrontation, the two made comments along the lines of “Do you know who I am” and “I will be contacting the mayor,” according to theatre representatives. She has since apologised for the incident, citing her recent divorce as the reason for her antics.

Responding to her F-35 commentary, one user wrote: "Literally the exact opposite is happening... the device can’t be found because of the [advanced] military technology."

Another added: "I found it! It's in my backyard! I just need a box big enough to send it. How many stamps do you need for a jet?"

Questioning whether a progressive approach from military leaders was directly responsible for a plane disappearing, one person commented: "Yeah that's what is causing the disappearance of an F-35... Woke ideology."

Boebert wasn't the only one to complain, however. Fellow Republican House member Nancy Mace questioned "How in the hell do you lose an F-35?"

She continued: "How is there not a tracking device and we’re asking the public to what, find a jet and turn it in?"

F-35s are designed to be hard to detect, likely adding to the difficulties for authorities. It was left on autopilot before the pilot ejected, leading to speculation over how long it could have been airborne.

Jeremy Huggins, a spokesman at Joint Base Charleston, said to the Washington Post that the transponder on the jet was not working "for some reason that we haven’t yet determined."

Boebert, a far-right Donald Trump supporter and lawmaker from Colorado, has railed against what she believed is "woke" military policy before. In 2021, she opposed a pledge proposed by Task Force Navy One that asked for personnel to advocate for "intersectional identities of every sailor in the Navy" by saying "Our military needs to project strength, not cultural wokeness."

In June this year, she claimed the Pentagon thinks her to be a security threat. "Apparently the Pentagon thinks I'm a security threat because I oppose Biden's plans for a woke military," she tweeted.

The twee was in reference to TRMLX, a website that claimed the Pentagon made a report in February 2021 on "security threats" pertaining to prominent far-right conservatives on social media. TRMLX is run by anonymous writers, which have run different websites that have peddled conspiracy theories.

Corporal Christian Cortez, a Marine with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, said there was a mishap involving an F-35B Lightning II jet and that the search was ongoing Monday. Exactly what happened was under investigation, he said.

A South Carolina Law Enforcement Division helicopter joined the search after some bad weather cleared in the area, Stanton said. Military officials appealed in online posts Sunday for any help from the public in locating the aircraft.

The pilot, whose name hasn't been released, was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.
