Steps star Claire Richards confessed she was once in love with a popular 90s singer and even waited backstage at concerts in hopes of getting noticed.

The singer, 46, was part of the pop group with Lee Latchford-Evans, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian 'H' Watkins. At the time, Steps was on a Smash Hits tour with her unrequited love, the one and only Peter Andre. Claire admitted the Mysterious Girl singer, 50, was her 'secret crush'.

When they were on tour, Steps and Peter were all staying in the same hotel. "I was in love with Peter, I really was,” she admitted. “He was my secret crush. But he was a few years older than me, so he probably thought I was just a kid. I used to wait backstage for him and hope he’d notice me, but he never did."

She went on to explain she always used to wear crop tops and combat trousers, as per the style of the 90s. She once bumped into him in the hallway and he randomly bent over to give her stomach a "little peck" before walking off. Claire hasn't properly since him in over a decade.

Speaking to OK!, she said: "During the filming of Cooking With The Stars, we had some time to catch up and talk about the old days – but I didn’t have the heart or the courage to remind him of that kiss!" Claire married her first husband, Mark Webb, in 2003 but the two went their separate ways two years later.

She later rekindled her relationship with Reece Hill, with the two marrying in 2008. They share two children together. Meanwhile, Peter famously married Katie Price after meeting her on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in early 2004. They share children Princess and Junior Andre.

They split in 2009; three years later, he met his now-wife, Dr. Emily MacDonagh. They have two children together and married in 2015 at Mamhead Hosue near Exeter. Peter recently hinted at the possibility of having more children at 50.

Vicky Pattison quizzed the Mysterious Girl hitmaker on the possibility while on The Secret To podcast, to which he replied: "Children… I was like, when I get to 50 I'm done and then I find myself having conversations with Em going, 'Yeah you know, if we did have another child, where would we put Junior?'"

"I can't even believe we have those conversations and that makes me think that I just don't know, it's just one of those things. It's just weird that we even have those conversations, so I don't know."
