Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has referenced the Kansas City Chiefs home stadium in his latest NFL press conference.

The Lions are in a confident mood after beating the Chiefs 21-20 in the Week One opener on 'Thursday Night Football'. It means that the NFC North franchise will go 1-0 to start the year thanks to the win over the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Brian Branch scored a touchdown with a pick-six for the Lions in the win at Arrowhead Stadium. Amon-Ra St. Brown and David Montgomery scored the other two touchdowns for the Lions, and now Campbell has spoken about the atmosphere in Missouri.

The Lions head coach was previewing the Week Two game for the Lions against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday. It will be the home opener for Detroit at Ford Field and there is a great deal of excitement and anticipation going into the season in Michigan.

Detroit has sold out its season tickets at Ford Field for the first time in franchise history. And Campbell is expecting a noisy atmosphere in Week Two against the Seahawks.

“I’m expecting it to be loud, I know what Arrowhead is and it was loud but I expect it to be louder than that, I really do,” said Campbell in his press conference on Monday.

“I just know our fans, and it’ll be to the point where you can’t hear yourself think, for them anyway.”

Campbell is fully aware of the atmosphere that can be generated by the home crowd at Ford Field. The Lions head coach recalled his debut as a player for the team in 2006 in the home opener against the Seahawks in a 9-6 loss, and how surprised he was at the impact the home fans made from the stands.

"I just remember, I was not expecting that. It was loud, it was loud," said Campbell. “I had been in some loud places and been around, and I was not expecting it.

“That was my first eye-opener. We get some wins here, and this place will really be on fire."

Should the Lions defeat the Seahawks then it would be the first time that the franchise has started a season 2-0 since 2017. After the exit of Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers, and uncertainty at the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears, the Lions emerged during the off-season as a possible favourite to win the NFC North title.
