Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham's legal dispute with her fired wedding planners has finally come to a close.
The famous couple became entangled in a messy legal saga following a lavish $3 million wedding ceremony at Nicola's billionaire father's home in Palm Beach last year. Nicola's famous dad, Nelson Peltz, sued Plan Design Events - who were hired six weeks ahead of the wedding - claiming that the planners failed to return a deposit of $159,000 (£125,000) after they were fired after nine days.
But after a long-winded dispute, all parties involved have announced that the lawsuit has come to an end and all claims have been dismissed.
In a joint statement sent to People magazine, they shared: "The parties believe that this contract dispute between Nelson Peltz and Plan Design should be resolved on the terms agreed. As part of the settlement, PDE will make a donation in the name of Nicola and Brooklyn to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund. PDE wishes Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham happiness and a fruitful life together."
Holidate star Nicola went through three different wedding planners that could not meet the "scale" she was seeking for her special day. Trouble first began when organiser Preston Bailey decided to step down from the project six weeks before the ceremony. Then the couple hired Nicole Braghin and Ariana Grijalba from Plan Design Events who were fired nine days after being hired to organise the event and later sued. According to Peltz, the Plan Design Events "seriously misrepresented their skills and abilities and, in fact, lacked the necessary skills to perform".
Nicola Peltz's texts revealed as her billionaire dad sues wedding plannersThe two co-owners of Plan Design Events later countersued for "breach of contract." Plan Design Events' lawyer David Rosemberg told the Mail: "My clients have impeccable reputations within the event-planning industry and among their high-end clientele worldwide. They operate their business with the utmost integrity and discretion," he added: "The lawsuit that was filed by Nelson Peltz is frivolous and unimpressive."
In March, Nicola and Claudia filed a new motion to be removed from future legal proceedings following "malicious and mean-spirited" allegations.
Legal documents later revealed communications between the family and organisers. Details of the wedding planning were revealed including Claudia not wanting David Beckham and Victoria Beckham to know how disorganised the planning for the wedding had become. A complaint from the organisers read: "Both Claudia and Nicola had insisted that Victoria Beckham (Brooklyn's mother) could not know about any internal mistakes regarding the ongoing planning of her son's wedding, including any errors with the guest list."
Nelson's attorneys claimed the wedding organisers "took advantage" of their chance to work with "two world-famous celebrities." In the filing, the Peltz family describes Nicola as "a world-famous actress who has starred in blockbuster movies and television shows, including, among others, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Bates Motel and The Last Airbender.”
Despite difficulties with planning, Brooklyn and Nicola held a extravagant star-studded wedding at a beautiful oceanfront mansion in Florida. The famous couple exchanged their own vows in a traditional Jewish ceremony under an Orchid-covered chuppah which was attended by 600 guests including famous stars Eva Longoria, Serena Williams, Gordon Ramsay.
