Woman sets fire to Pride flag at restaurant before scrawling 'Jesus is King'

A woman is accused of setting fire to a Pride flag at a swanky restaurant before scrawling "Jesus is King" on two police cars.

Angelina Cando, 30, has been charged with multiple hate crimes after setting fire to the flag situated outside a restaurant in Little Prince, a New York, US, in the early hours of Monday at around 1.30am.

Firefighters were alerted to the restaurant after reports of a fire outside the building, which was soon extinguished.

No one was hurt in the fire, according to authorities.

Angelina now faces multiple hate crime charges, including arson, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.

Cops confirmed the suspect was arrested twice earlier this year, once for a domestic incident, and another for allegedly pulling a knife on someone.

She remains in police custody as she awaits her arraignment.

Meanwhile, a new Pride flag has been hung outside the restaurant since the attack.

It is not the first incident with the French restaurant, which is in the heart of Soho, having previously suffered hate attacks before.

Employees have previously revealed a stranger tried to steal the Pride flag as it hangs proudly outside the restaurant.

The restaurant incident comes just days after a couple were left "grossed out" when they found a plastic glove fried into their mac and cheese ball.

Brittany, 25, and her boyfriend Tyler were out for a romantic meal at a Cheesecake Factory in Jersey City, New Jersey, US whey they were both left disgusted with their meal.

Tyler had ordered the mac and cheese ball but within one bite knew something was wrong and quickly spat out the food.

They quickly alerted staff but at first the manager she didn't seem to believe the couple, according to Brittany.

The manager reportedly said "what would you like me to do?" as the couple rejected the restaurant's offer of a new meal and left the establishment.

Brittany told NeedToKnow.Online: "As soon as he bit and started chewing on it all the colour drained from his face and he immediately spits it out.

"The woman next to us was even like 'I saw that, I will vouch for you'. We told our server, who was shocked. They immediately grabbed their manager.

She said they were offered a $25 (£20) gift card, which she found "laughable" given the potentially dangerous situation.
