The PS Plus August 2023 Essential games are available to download now and features a brand new game from Little Big Planet creators Media Molecule.

PS Plus Essential August 2023 undoubtedly holds the record for the most games included in a single month of PS Plus, that's all thanks to Media Molecule's PS4 hit Dreams, which joins the service for subscribers this month. Dreams takes the level creation feature that made Little Big Planet and expands it tenfold into a full-blown game creation tool. The number of Dreams games available is cited to be in the thousands (even if at least 100 will be recreations of Super Mario Bros. Level 1-1), offering near-endless replayability in the PS Plus August 2023 lineup.

Dreams would be exciting enough on its own, but it gets even better, as Media Molecule is celebrating the arrival of the game on PS Plus by launching their latest game inside Dreams. Tren is the latest in the 'Media Molecule Originals' line of Dreams games; in the past, the company has published platformers, a hack and slash, and a number of PSVR games in Dreams. With Tren, they're going a different route by creating an adventure/puzzle game in which you play as a toy train.

Media Molecule announced Tren on its Twitter back in 2021 and described the game as a "high-score chasing, track-building adventure", now two years later it's finally here sporting a whopping 95 levels for players to master. So not only do you get the fantastic The Legend of Zelda-inspired adventure Death's Door, PGA Tour 2K23, and – of course – Dreams itself as a part of PS Plus' August 2023 offering, but the brand new title Tren is also available.
